Sky Q and entertainment for £10 per month (18 months - £180) - Existing Broadband Customers without TV Package

Found 10th Aug
So I got called by sky today as I'd been "chosen" for a great deal. Sky Q 2tb box with free installation and the basic entertainment package for £10 a month on an 18 month contract. I'm already a sky broadband customer so I suspect they are actively trying to cross sell or upsell existing broadband customers. I didn't bite as I rarely watch TV but might be worth watching out for any calls you get from sky.

Not doubting this deal, but just to make people aware whom may not be, scam calls were recently doing the rounds purporting to be Sky offering cheap deals. (eg my brother was called offering the whole shebang for £28/month. Just needed bank account details....) A quick google of the number revealed the truth. He has some learning difficulties, but they may have hit the jackpot as he recently left Sky.

Just thought it was worth a mention. Hate for anyone to get duped.

I wanted to upgrade my broadband to fibre a while back but they were making the offer dependent on having sky Q with hefty install fees. This would interest me!
Good deal as it’s usually £20 plus all extras be nice to know what full shabangs would be
2tb are you sure ?

I can't provide evidence of this offer as I was just cold called. Might be worth opening a live chat session and see if you can get them to offer the deal. Best of luck

Can you watch in UHD on nowtv?
very much account specific
Used chat service yesterday for check in SKYQ but only offered me was £20 +£12 fee and it was 18 months contrct.. didn't take it...
Coincidently they called me yesterday trying to sell me sky Q for the first time. The best they offered was 2 TB plus one mini box with the installation fee set to £35 initially, followed by three payments of £30 i.e. £125 installation spread over 4 months. I said i wouldn’t pay any installation and they ended the call,
I currently pay £40 for everything plus one multiroom, on a rolling contract. Comes to an end in December and it will be interesting to see what happens.

Just 1080p as you are well aware.

Are you sure? The live streams look 720p at best and the movies definitely don't look full HD.

Box or stick?

I have the stick, it does output at 1080p but I always thought the now TV content was still 720p.

Very likely. I posted it just in case they called anybody else and if you are in a habit of just rejecting sales calls.

Really needs to be in misc, worst sort of retention deal, not available to everyone even if it does exist. Mods must be down the pub tonight to let it sit here so long

My sky HD contract has just ended and I was offered Sky Q HD with entertainment package and mini box + box sets all HD channels for £23 a month for a 18 month contract with £20 install + £10 admin charge. Then after excepting the offer I was told I could not have it for that price due to an error after she spoke to her supervisor , so I asked for a cancellation and put in a complaint online , after a couple of days I got the call and they honoured the deal minus the admin fee
gets installed in a couple of weeks so I amwe’ll happy with Sky

For 720 low quality HD, nah you’re ok! You get what you pay for.

Coming from someone with a former now TV deal

Yes, but that was simply to get Movies, I was not comparing it in any way to being better than Sky Q.
Thanks for stalking me though, x

Wonderful, I still think I’ll stick to my Q with UHD on my OLED TV, but appreciate the correction!

Streaming content is still 720 but that is about to change. Some live content is 1080p
Sky Q is just quality and that’s something I’d never thought I would say
its a massive upgrade from the old sky box
and at this price it’s a steel
I’ve added atmos speaker into the mix now and movies not only look great in uhd but the sound is incredible
With more features to be added next year
sky will be the way to go
just wish they wouldhurry up and upgraded there mini box to play 4k
heat from me

I didn't know any of the live content was 1080p, maybe they are testing but I heard they will be charging people extra for it when they do start offering it in Nov/dec.

Your probably right, and i could guess not everyone will be paying the same.
Just renegotiated my deal having handed in my notice 2 weeks ago. Retained Q plus a mini, all channels sports movies hd everything, entertainment, fibre unlimited, and line rental for £90 for 18 months. Just to give others renegotiating some sort of idea.

LOVE sky Q with everything, nothing else can compete. Our Prime and 4k Netflix rarely get a look in. Positioning Now TV as a comparable alternative is a joke.

Why would I want to watch 720p on my full HD TV? This ain't 2001.
I can confirm the legitimacy of this deal.
Please be aware that you need to have had Broadband/Fibre with them for a minimum of 12 months to qualify for this deal.
It is not available for existing Sky TV Customers.

I've only had broadband for 3 months. I'm glad that somebody else has confirmed the offer though.
The guy on sky chat was so happy I was taking the £43 a month deal that I sorta think I could've got more discount now!!

Streaming quality can vary according to your internet connection at a particular time, but the maximum available streaming quality is 720p for NOW TV content on all devices except YouView, which is limited to Standard Definition (SD) (comparable to a regular TV channel).

Now TV site says this: "Streaming quality can vary according to your internet connection at a particular time, but the maximum available streaming quality is 720p for NOW TV content on all devices except YouView, which is limited to Standard Definition (SD) (comparable to a regular TV channel)."
34696141-3kubp.jpgI could get this.but I'm holding out for a sky q offer.
This is the deal they offered me when moving home broadband. They said they would fit new dish, provide sky box and entertainment package for £10 per month. No installation charges. So paying £19.49 per month for line rental broadband, and entertainment pack tv installed.
I heard you have to pay £5 extra for HD, is this true?

I think so. They make their money from the added extras
