I recently came to the end of my sky contract so tried to get a better deal out of sky, i couldn't get what i wanted so after about 4 phone calls i cancelled.

This is what i was offered 2 weeks ago before cancelling.

Family package with box sets £19 per month (50% discount)
Sky Q - £12 per month
Sky Q 1TB box - £15 install
1 x mini box - £40 install

After quite a few missed calls from Sky, I decided to call them back and this is what I've agreed on today..

Family package with box sets £19 per month (50% discount)
Sky Q - £12 per month (first 3 months credited)
Sky Q 2TB box - FREE install
2 x mini boxes - FREE install (offered up to 4 mini boxes for free)

I'm not sure why 2 weeks made such a difference but they can clearly offer some great deals currently.

Cancel, I did, last week they offered me Sky + Sports for just over £11, this week they offered me Sky free for 6 months!
Original Sky Deals carry over now, previously they didn't.

I had everything except movies for £38 a month. Switched over to Q a month ago, just had to pay for the box and the minis, and the extra £12 a month for the multiscreen.

Haven't seen what retention's are like yet for Q, this could be the first one i've seen.
I thought this was a good retentions deal, £50 a month and £160 install normally but based on the cold votes I'm guessing not.
I get this for £42 a month so it's a good deal.
I'm paying £42 for this and I had free 43inch 4K LG TV. Loving sky q at the moment
I've been wanting to upgrade to Sky Q for some time but its always quoted at £299 every time I look as I'd need the main Sky Q box plus 2 minis.

May try speaking with cancellations see if I can get them to move.
TBH, this is the normal for sky, leave it one or two days you always get. A better deal ..right before the end of contract

The monthly cost is about right I agree, it was more about the upfront costs because 2 or 3 weeks ago they wouldn't move no matter what I said, I couldn't even get them to give me a free 1tb box.

On another note, this is why I don't bother posting anything on here though, a 40% saving on the published monthly spend, a 100% saving on the £160 one off costs ... AND an extra 25% off the yearly Q sub. If that's not enough to be considered a good deal I don't know what is.

Don't let the cold votes put you off posting deals.

I'd imagine it's because this kind of thing is customer/advisor specific and the offers, if any, can vary.
I recently cancelled Sky and spoke to an advisor on three occasions in order to acquire a Q box, but they simply would not budge - no free Q box, full installation cost etc. Because I also have Broadband & phone with them, the day before end-date I had to stop the cancellation, having received no calls with a much better deal - ended up paying about £10 less (before price increases) than previous, so not what I wanted but better than nothing.

I've heard some people getting great deals when negotiating after the contract ends, but it's very much hit & miss what people receive. Great though that you managed to get a good deal & highlighted the possibility for others.
Unless your contract is ending you get nothing from sky. How they can charge £99 install for a box that's on loan to you is a disgrace and £99 for a wireless box is worse. I see people getting amazing deals from sky every day on here and I can't seem to get anything from them. Theres always a jobsworth on the line when I phone.
Well just spend an hour on the phone with Cancellations with them trying to keep me but couldn't offer any discount on upfront costs of Sky Q - Still wanting £297 for the upgrade so progressed with the cancellation. Will see what happens in a few weeks time.

What number did you ring when you finally got this offer?

Apparently they were giving it away free for 18 months to new subscribers last trying to meet targets.
Probably worth phoning at the end of a month.
I cancelled my sky HD package which I had 60% off on. Logged on to my account after receiving a text and they are offering the same 60% off for 12months and a £50 credit to the account. As much as wanted to get Sky Q I think the retention deal isn't bad.

I had the above sent to me in a text so I called that number
I've expired my contact and have 2 weeks left before it is cancelled.
I just rang and they offered my usual package deal of Variety with HD F1 12 months £24.80 (60% discount) using my current HD box. I really want Sky Q and multi screen with my current package. I was told it's £44.80 for 12 months (35% discount).
Think I'll hold out another week...
What happens to your recordings if you hit cancellation date? Do you get them back if you sign back up?
If you use the same box, your recordings will still be on there. I bought a 2nd hand 2tb box and activated it on my card. All their recordings existed on it!
I tired holding out for sky q offers but they weren't forthcoming at all. So stuck with 60% and hoping an offer will appear throughout the year
Well after a week into my notice I went to secure.sky.com/mys…sky and started a online chat with an advisor.

I've ended up with A free Sky Q 2TB and 1 x Sky Q mini. I had to pay £99 for the second mini but this was reduced to £49 as he also credited my account with £50.

Also received 25% off for 12 months on the Boxsets package. So I've gone from paying £56 a month to £40.50 with all new Sky Q.

I'd of rather them include the second mini for free but hey can't have everything.
I have been sky customer for 25 yeras and still havent had anything worth speaking of¬

That's something like I've been offered today. I tried for 18 months but unsuccessful! The sky Q with 1 multi room variety &HD and F1 £42.40. If I keep my HD box it's £22.40 a month. Hmm I'm sure SkyQ is worth the extra £20 a month!
I left sky a year ago, I got offered the return to sky £32 pm 60% discount... if i did sky q then it would be £60 pm. but would get mini box to use in bedroom. Is sky q worth the extra £28 not sure. Not sure new customers are being offered tv or laptop anymore because i was thinking of getting my daughter to join instead. Only thing i can see is £25 voucher

Refuse, it's not worth £28 and they can certainly offer better than that.
I didn't think you could get F1 HD separate to Sports anymore?
Only old customers with the original hd pack can get f1 without sports.
It's what keeps me staying with sky.

Same reason for me too. Don't watch footy
I've renewed and upgraded:

Cancelled sky hd a few days ago. 60% off appeared on my account (was on 50% off). Went on chat, got £50 credit added. The key is to take the original equipment deal first, then upgrade to sky q. The maximum discount before this was 25%, but you can transfer your discount now.

Upgraded to 2TB plus minibox for £100 (have the £50 credit in my account). All in all the same as I was paying roughly for sky hd and now have sky q. Hope it's good!

How did you upgrade? Through the chat or is it an option on the account?

I ended up with 60% off and £50 credit too which equates to around 71% effective discount.
Just done it by phoning up - Sky Q 2TB and mini box for £100 on a 12 month contract plus £12 a month for multi room.
Can I ask where you guys are seeing your discount offered on the website,I can't see where to look on the website once I've logged in,I gave my notice a couple weeks ago

Try logging in to your account on the TV box via the services menu. Here I saw 60%. I also noticed Sky slipping in TV ads offering 60% if I stayed with Sky. On the website I initially only saw 50% under the 'left sky in the last 12 months section'. However, I also noticed the 60% appeared on the Sky home page (at the bottom).
I have just come to the end of my contract. I was paying £35 per month for:
- Sky Box sets
- Sky Sports
- Sky Movies
- Sky Multiroom
- HD package

rang up to see what could be done, best new deal was £72 per month if I got rid of Multi room. Told them no thanks and cancelled. Today (two days later) I got a phone call offering me my full same package for £45 per month. Once again I said no and that I would pay that if it was Sky Q I was told they will ring me back next week to see if they have any new offers for me.
