Sky have cut the price of Q for customers with over 10 years service. You must phone for the offer, it is not available online.

The usual £99* smart features fee is waived meaning you only pay the £50 installation fee.

* Customers without Movies or Sport may have to pay more £249 but should be able to take advantage of current half price movies offer to then be eligible for discounted "Smart Services Fee and just £50 install. You should be able to cancel movies after a month.

How much does it cost month?

also sky plan to hike there prices on the 1st of june and your sky tv package may rise by up to 10% in a minimum contract term.
also note 18 month contract on this.

Price rise means change in T&C meaning contract is over

42.00 at min and looks like the normal channels (17.00 extra for movies,25.50 extra for sports).
Sky Q boxes, including the remotes supplied with them, and the Sky Q Hub are loaned to you by Sky at no cost and must be returned when the Sky service they are used with ends.

God sky rip you off so much....

Jesus! A fancier box and they raise the price! I prefer sky to virgin to be honest! But I went for virgin as I don't feel as thought in being taken for too much of a ride!

Anyone on this site who pays full price for sky should be banned :). If you haven't check out the 75% off thread now 50% with Bill credit and follow the advice on there.

Side note we had a sky engineer out the other week, he said even with his discount he wouldn't be getting it and was hearing the same from his colleagues.

I don't even know what this does...

More tuners, more buttons on new remote, looks cooler and more functions. That said software upgrade for existing boxes due soon anyway

The remote control looks hideous and cheap. I'm aware of the the features it has but aesthetically eeewwwww.

More money...

I dont want this fancy crap, just TV.

We fall for it every time (just like Apple or Samsung). Instead of improving their offering to keep us loyal, they charge us more & we pay, just like lemmings. NO MORE!

signed into my account & offering me it for £54pm on top of the £58pm I'm already paying.... no thanks oO

Liked the idea of getting rid of the cables all over the house. We have two sky HD boxes multiplexed using RF2 and Magic eyes, 1 feeds upstairs, 1 downstairs. Called them up, asked about RF2, it's been removed on Q. So asked how many sky Q minis (£99 each) I can have, reply is 4 but can only watch two at any time plus main Q box. But can also watch on two tablets, I ask, can I AirPlay or cast from the tablets? No you can't. Ok, so can I have two main sky Q boxes and two minis on each? No you can't. OK, can I keep my sky HD Box (feeding the bedrooms) and have a Q box for the main tv and a mini for the family room? No you can't. Hmmm, I said, not really got a product for me then. The replay was no, perhaps in the future. So if you want to watch more than 3tv's simultaneously, that's same of different channels, it's not there yet. Didnt even get to the distribution of the aerial to allow each tv to watch a different digital channel. RF2 has been the only feature that has kept me with sky, shame they have lost a great feature.

I think its a cheek that these companies charge to install the equipment too greedy

They removed the rf2 feed from their normal box they provide ages ago though you can buy a third party adaptor to get it back again.

Its 2016 there are so many other ways you can watch TV with paying for sky rip off prices. Then again, if you spending so much money on Sky Q then you are spending too much time in front of the TV.

Zgemma here... Slyk all the way

While the price sucks. Early adopters always pay more. It'll come down.
If anything at least they try and give the masses a single user environment.

Do people slate Sonos for making music listening so expensive. When a Chrome Audio and existing speakers does the same thing.

Oh do they wonder why I pay broadband?!

Haha. I have Now TV and Netflix and other sources for my viewing. Does me.

Gave up on Sky a long time ago. Only a mug pays £50+ a month to watch tv.

Murdoch can swivel.

Omg really!?? I had no idea.....

The POINT you missed was that NowTV is £6.99 a month for the best channels without signup.

You don't need any of it with Showbox or an Android box anyway.

£10 a year for all channels. Why anybody would pay this extortion is beyond me.

You don't know what you're talking about. All Sky engineers get Sky for free, my mate who's a Sky engineer has just had his free SkyQ installed.

What bit don't I know what I am talking about, even with his discounts doesn't a mean he pays for it, they do pay for some additional services or are you sayng the engineer was telling me a lie when he said he and his colleagues weren't getting it, oddly there are hundreds of sky engineers and workers and the one I got probably didn't know your mate.

Try and be more positive if slagging someone off for there post, we are all allowed different opinions

Yeh, apologies, have 1 new box with adaptor and 1 old box with RF2. Can't see a way (at the moment) or doing something similar with sky q. In time I'm sure someone will work something out. That will be the time to make the move. Or when a single box can have more simultaneous minis running.

No, not as of last week.
