I called up Sky on 0333 759 3262 to try and solve an issue with my broadband. It turned out it was the wrong number for technical support however the lady on the line offered me a one off offer. Full Sky package including box sets, sports & movies for only £24.42pcm for 18 months! That is down from £74. I am getting a free SkyQ box and broadband boosting hub as well. I used MSE's deal earlier in the year for broadband for the year for £64 as well so I have a complete package for £29.75 for the next 6 months. I can now cancel my NowTV subscription and still get Game of Thrones yay!

Sky are weird like this... I got a much better offer from the Homemove team for a TV package, than any other department could offer.

My retention deal was crap compared to this, 33% off for 18 months if I signed an 18 month contract, and that took an awful lot of negotiation. Cheeky buggers even charged me £10 for the privilege of giving me the deal

dont bother looking retention deals - ask to cancel via email or live chat (any time up to 30 days before contract due to end) and stick to your guns . They will ring with a crap offer but tell them you still want to cancel. Then log into sky offers (online or via TV) and you will see 50% off your package offer for 12 months - hold your nerve and within a few weeks this will change to 60%. I am paying £9 per month for original bundle.

What's the best way to get a good deal off sky as a new customer? The online "offers" are a complete rip-off...

Hi.
My Sky contact is up this week any tips on getting a good deal.
Anybody negotiated recently

HI Mary98,

I have just got 60%, £50 credit on full package. Wait until you are out of contract, then leave it three weeks.
You should already by that time be offered 50% off in your online account. I then went on online chat and mentioned the 60% off leaflet, which they honoured. They also offered £50 credit. Make sure you ask for the credit though, as that wasn't mentioned until I said it was on the leaflet. I did ask about Sky Q, changing to it and they offered 25% off and part way through the conversation that changed to 40%. I am going to ring up in one weeks time and see if they will offer me anything for Sky Q as the woman online said I can upgrade at any time and they may make other offers.
Hope this helps.

I've not yet tried it but I've got an offer on a family members sky+ HD package which is offering an upgrade to sky Q. When I hit the checkout it shows the current offer price (£24.50 fro everything incl sports HD) and says it's a new 18 month contract.

It's possible it's just SKY's IT being rubbish but with screen shot's I'm confident I could get them to stick to that for 18 months. I'm going to do it 1 month before their out of current contract.

For reference they are charging for the box, £199 but over 18 months I think that's OK.

Its Sky being rubbish, you will probably find that the contract for Sky Q is 18 months but your current offer will end when it is up. So if you leave it to the last monthy you could end up having Sky Q at a reduced price for one month and then hit for the next 17 moths with their sky high prices. Just be careful signing upto Sky Q this way, I agree it does not explain itself very well when you go through checkout.

Thought as much, given there's a cooling off period on the contract I'm willing to play hard ball with them with screen shots and if they don't play ball get them to de install for free, it's a right pain for them with Q as the engineer needs to do the LNB on de install.

Been on chat line to cancel sky.Was offered 60% straight away £35 for the full package.
Not taken as still in contract. Will give it a couple of days and try to get the cashback offer too.
Good first offer though

Hi

Sky +

I've cancelled today and got the 50% off offer immediately online well wait for 60% and then go online as want to upgrade to sports HD and fibre broadband.. wish me luck. Also been with sky for many years now thinking 10plus so should get good deal I hope

Been with Sky for 18 years and have all TV services, except Q, plus Unlimited BB, landline and two multirooms. We cancelled stating we're going to Virgin as they're £70 less for the same bundle and they offered 33%..... off TV only..... and that was the best they could do. That was on a call so I guess we can try chat and see what they'll offer. But right now, that's how much Sky value our business....

I'm doing the same but have received a letter (well a flyer but with my details on) saying that the offer of 50% will end on Monday, 10th July....never had that happen before.

wasted 55 minutes waiting for live chat - gave up & sent an email - 5 days later heard nothing!

Been overcharged by Sky for long enough - I'm off - just don't know when!!

well to conclude they rang to confirm my email, didn't offer anything whatsoever, being switched off this Friday.
I've been with them for years, never bothered them or haggled (more fool me!!) - £35 for the F1 channel is just too much...
bibi Sky

i had live chat with variety, movies, Sports for £27.80. i wanted the £50 credit. They refused saying the Credit offer is not on at the moment, i stated £50 ill sign up again, Then offer came on £20, i rejected, Then came £25. i stated, pay first month ill sign up (£27.80) they refused. so i didnt sign up..

Skys loss lmao
