Says compatible in description and is Rev 8. Others say "genuine" and are Rev 9...... Not sure how well these will work or build quality.....

the ones we have been given at work will not allow a tv remote code, you hold select and red and it wont give the double flash to enter the code.

some right crap floating about.

A few years ago I rang sky to say my remote was not working and they sent out a free replacement, I ended up with 3 as they were sending them to my mum's address. Everytime I rang them to query where it was they sent another.

thankyou fungimala have ordered one

What's 'naughty' about what she did? It doesn't sound like she was hoarding spare remotes intentionally, but merely querying if and where they had sent them.

Agreed, if Sky are too incompetent to send to her actual address instead of sending it to another Miss Ricks (even if it happened to be her mother), then she should make them realize their mistake, after all, what if they had sent her quality data to a stranger?

my FREE bubble one has still not arrived, poor service from sky.

check they did not send it to your mum!

had one of these last time there were this cheap - didn't work at all, had to send back. AVOID!

I'm sure the original sky ones dont have the black circle background...

Surely Sky should supply one if yours is faulty. Can you use sky without a remote I didn't think you could but may be wrong. If that's the case and your paying on a contract surely they can't take your money.

You'd think so. I had the same argument with Sky when my 2yr old box died. They said they wanted £150, I said, "hang on, I'm paying you lot £40 a month to RECEIVE the channels, surely this should include the cost of the equipment to receive the damn channels!!!".

They simply said that the equipment is my responsibility after the 12mth guarantee period, so I told them to cancel my subscription as I wasn't paying for the box so didnt need the service... they relented and sent me a new box (surprisingly, not!!). I doubt they would do the same with a remote, but its worth a shot?!?

does this genuinely work or not then? i need to buy one and there seem to be mixed reviews...

thanks

Same here, our little un denies it but the SELECT button no longer works and sounds sticky when you press it..... Im suspecting jam!!!

Just purchased one from eBay, did not work with sky hd box out of the bag, had to set to a sky hd mode, works fine now

Been with sky for 5 years, Sky+ box was knackered. Telesales wanted £65 call out + any parts so I said "Forget that,I'll cancel then!" Cancelation dept (or "retentions" as they really are) reduced it to £15 for a spanking new HD Box, including delivery/fitting/dish. So depending what you need from Sky, go to them first.

I was in Tesco before and these are priced at £27 what a rip off. Heat added

I had a similar problem with my Xbox Controller after my nephew got what could only be described as 'sticky goo' underneath one of the buttons. Try spraying window cleaner on the buttons and then leaving it for an hour, then wipe it off and leave to dry for a few hours. Works like brand new now.

I'd advise on shelling out for a Logitech multi remote - its changed my life...............

2% cashback through Quidco too

To repair a sky remote (in most cases)....pinch out the black emitor widow (squeeze and pull) then remove battery cover and remove 1 or 2 tiny screws from the holes, then with a thin flat blunt knife snap apart the remote case into 2 parts(run the blade into the seam and twist carefully, once apart wipe the circuit board with spirit cleaner, wash the rubber pads and the remote case in soapy water, let it dry,put it back together.....and hey presto it now works ok

The after market "sky" remotes often set-up using a different sequence of button presses from the official sky remote set up

Cheers both, I'll give it a go. Already had to replace my WDLive remote as he would not stop picking at the buttons, eventually "somehow" the power button was pulled out of the housing..... he of course denies all knowledge!! Kids bless em, can't live with em, can't sell em on ebay (joke!)

Good price, got one from ebay myself, works perfectly. Sell for £20 odd in Tesco and most shops.

Total Rubbish. Controls the TV fine but will not control the Sky+ box.
A piece of Paper with the buttons drawn on would probably work better

Showing as £5.99 - not £4.99

Not the same quality as original Sky remotes. I have it but I wish I had paid a little extra for the original. More softer & cushioned.

Received mine ..... works just fine and easy to set up with my TV.

bought one and there is nothing wrong with the quality!

works fine and does the job great for a fiver thanks again
