Sky Sports + broadband & line, just £28/mth
We can't remember a similar Sky Sports deal that's so cheap, and you can add movies too

The secret to cheap TV sport is finding deals where watching Costa doesn't cost ya too much. And this from TalkTalk is cheaper than some standard prices for just broadband & line. But the firm's had massive problems. A major 2015 hack saw customers' personal info stolen, and it's got a terrible rep for service - 40% voted it 'poor' in our latest poll (although BT wasn't much better). We don't think it's proved itself yet, but the deal's so good we wanted to let you know about it...

Sky TVNew. £28/mth for Sky Sports + TalkTalk broadband & line. Via this TalkTalk* link new and existing customers (who want to extend their contracts for 1yr) can get this heavily discounted deal till Thu 20 Aug. The broadband & line is on a 1yr contract but you can cancel the TV element at any time after the first 30 days. There are no upfront costs - here's what you get:

Sky Sports + TalkTalk YouView box for £8.50/mth. This element of the deal lasts 18mths and is a huge reduction on the usual £34/mth + £50 upfront. You get 8 of 10 Sky Sports channels (not Sky Sports News or Mix). The box gives all Freeview channels - though you can't get Sky channels in HD via TalkTalk and need to pay extra for other premium channels.
Either... standard up-to-17Mb broadband & line £19.95/mth for 12mths. After, it's the usual £27/mth.
Or... up-to-38Mb fibre & line £26.50/mth for 12mths. After, it's the usual £33.50/mth.

- How's it stack up? All-in it's a steal at £28.45/mth for Sky Sports with standard speed broadband & line and £35/mth for fibre & line.

- Anything else? No calls are included - costs are similar to BT. Also, regular cashback site users may see bigger cashback elsewhere, but often on different deals. Cashback can also change daily, so check.

Want sports AND movies? You can get the standard-speed bundle above and all 11 Sky Cinema channels for £32.45/mth* via this link (fibre £39/mth*). It's the same deal as above, with Sky Cinema added for £4/mth for 18mths.

Don't want premium TV? If you're just after broadband & line, see our Cheap Broadband guide incl deals from equiv £13/mth. For TV, see Digital TV Deals.

Up to anyone whether they think its worth it!

TALK TALK STAY AWAY COLD!!!!
TalkTalk awfull in my experience. Is Sky Sports in HD?
Add more for HD that's not free. I pay £30 for everything and HD and sky go extra. Cold.
Get the best Sky or Virgin deal...........keep your money in your pocket.............no deal is the best deal
The carp showing is not worth the yearly price...... any price
I'll pass, thanks.
Nice MSE steal, shame you didn't check that Talk Talk are shite
Why so cold? I have broadband, houseline, mobile with them and it's amazing!
Anyone have any idea if talktalk have anything like sky go to watch skysports on android/iOs?

They do not which put me right off this deal
I had the flyer, no mention if HD or not.
This offer is excellent. It gets voted cold by the sky/bt/virgin people that are tied into contracts and have to vent there frustration with a cold vote. Us talktalk users are saving about £450 over 18 months which makes them even more angry.
I don't have a TV aerial and don't care about freeviews channels. I'm guessing I just need ethernet cable for skysports boost.

How often does it lag/freeze?

I thought that too but talktalk chat insists you need a freeview aerial to receive skysports /btsports.
I have just checked this for you. On my Talktalk Plus TV box you do need a TV aerial But i could un plug the aerial when i was on a sports channel as it streams through my broadband. So i assume to answer your question yes you need an aerial to populate the channels on the freeview box but not to watch subscribed channel

I dont get any lag or freeze but it depends on your broadband. I have 28mb fibre broadband and use ethernet cable rather than wifi.

Talktalk chat told me you don't need to. Talktalk Twitter told me you do not need to. I called talktalk on the phone and said they you do. What the hell

Thanks for checking mate. Will confirm it with talktalk one more time
You defo need an aerial to populate the channels on the box on setup but once the channels are there i can unplug aerial and select all subscribed channels but not freeview ones. not sure if the subscribed channels would install thru ethernet cable without an aerial
Just had it confirmed that sky sports is not in HD,same with BT sports add on.No option for HD as they said Sky /BT do not allow this.
Well last time I checked to get sky sports in HD with sky you have to have ...
Variety pack (36 quid), sports hd pack (6 quid) plus sky sports package itself (27.50) which equals about 70 quid.
Even if you manage to get a 40% discount its > 40 quid a month. You're getting SD here but basically for free, so its an amazing deal.
Nexus76, I'd been interested to hear how you get it for 30 quid with sky ....
Managed to haggle with talktalk..

Got Fibre broadband and landline for £25 + skysports (£8.50) = £33.50

AND THEY GAVE ME UNLIMITED CALL PLAN FOR FREE WHICH IS USUALLY £7.50. They first offered it for £3.75 but haggled more and got it for free!
