So i decided to upgrade my virgin package to include sky sports for the other half, when i called up the first person i spoke to tried to fob me off and said that £25.75 is the best deal they can do to add sky sports for me, to which i replied ok well i think i will have to close my virgin down and go with sky........

Oh im sorry to hear that please hold one second while ill pass you over to one of our other departments.............

Low and behold i got put through to someone else and they told me they had a special promotion on at the moment where they can offer existing customers sky sports half price for 3 months at £12.87, well i as you can guess i snapped their hand off thank you very much have a good day

I suggest if any one was thinking of upgrading to sky sports do what i did and im pretty sure you will get offered the same, the number i called was 08000520342, and you will get put through from there, if the first person you speak to just tries to fob you off with theres nothing i can offer you it will be an extra £25.75 a month then just say in that case i may just leave virgin and you will be put through to the "special" promotions as they put it.
Just before the 3 months period comes to a end you can cancel so you wont be charged full whack, unless of course you want to stay on the £25.75 subscription fee after the 3 months is up, you can cancel it by going online on your virgin media account or over the phone.

I hope this all makes sense im not the best at explaining what i want to say but if it just helps one person ill be a happy bunny

I dont like to shoot people down, so please take this politely. This has already been posted, at least twice from what ive seen as I took up the first one I saw. Great deal. Movies is also included for £16 odd too, which I did.

If you were in a position to leave and go to sky I'm presuming your out of contract... I would now check you still are... I've been with Virgin years and they're swines for signing you up without your knowledge for little perks such as this

youv just reminded me to ring them

i waying about £43 march 2012 now my bill for march 2013 says £59.39

im sure they have done a price increase like 3 times within a year

i could get every channel with sky for that

As with all these "Retention deals" offers can vary depending on who you speak to and what previous offers you have had. Personally I have moved from Sky to VM and back to Sky again, everytime I have tried to get the best price/package through retentions.Currently have SKY HD box plus a Std Sky box in my bedroom, I have full entertainment package and Sky sprorts, I dont have HD channels of Movies and Pay £34 per month, I was lucky as originally Sky only offered me 25% discount off the £63 package, but due to retentions not processing my cancellation request I ended up paying for another month at full price, a quick call to Sky and asking to speak to a manger I managed to get my current dea of 50% off for 12 montsl. So my advice is do your homework how much a better deal you could get by moving, be preapred to neogotiate on downsizing your package in order to save more money, and don't accept their 1st offer, you have 30 days notice to give, your current provider will normally call you up before your leaving date and offer you a better incentive. If you are happy with the deal then take it, if not you have other options. Sky Sports half price for 3 months isn't a bad deal, as the football season finishes in May, but if you like Cricket, Rugby, or F1 you may wish to re-negotiate again once your deal finishes. Yes out of contract and i am no longer under contract i can chop and change as i wish.

Thanks,

Received the letter in the post but totally forgot about it.

I find that it doesn't matter if thee deals have been posted before, there are new members joining up on this site daily so these little reminders etc can be very useful.

Have some heat from me.
