Sure, don't get me wrong, Sky isn't cheap, but really negative? Have you seen a better deal about that gives the same quality (and legal, of course!)
It's hot from me.
Ripoff sky. But people keep buying so good for them I guess.

It is but they have a monopoly over it so it's expected. I'm more annoyed that they have adverts even though it's a relatively expensive service to pay for lmao... Just pure greed. But if you want the best quality for the product... Gotta fork out.
Don't forget the mind blowing average 6 gig download speed if you sign up for internet too. Bargain.

I haggled right to the last minutes with them (Sky) and they wouldn't budge this time. I've now got super fast internet (Nearly 20X faster), free Netflix for 6 months, and it was up and running two days after I rang them on a whim. (Virgin). £2 a month more than Sky wanted but with a hugely superior package. Haggling always worked with Sky for me before, but when they wouldn't budge I took the nuclear option and Virgin seamlessly took over with zero fuss.

I suppose I was lucky but if they won't even try to compete that's a big fail.

Yeah I'm waiting for Virgin to cover my area. Just for the speeds more then anything else.
I have that exact package for £24.50 per month. No internet, just tv. Using my existing equipment (sky hd box). Rubbish deal, never paid over £30 per month for full package either.

Im finding that companies won't haggle much and give really poor deals recently. Kind of calling your bluff, I've never had to change providers as often as I have this year. You can always go back as a new customer next year.

Its no wonder folks go illegal routes.
Was a sky customer for many years. Last package included all three TV, internet and phone for about 32pm. They didn't offer any better deals and in fact told me to pay 34pm as their new offer. Moved to BT now and paying 24pm without TV package. But no one really watches TV snyway.

I do think moving to broadband only is the way for the future. Landlines should be made extinct soon. Tvs are not as popular as they were once before. Now with everything streamable and at reasonable prices I am pretty certain we won't need to buy TV packages from big entertainment companies.
Seriously? Garbage!

Show me a better (legal) alternative that's cheaper?

I've had the opposite experience this year, BT offered me a better deal for less for my broadband and I didn't even have to negotiate with Sky this year, messaged them once saying I wanted to leave and got a message a few days later saying they'd extended our offers for another year. 34571117-RfnMH.jpg

As for the original post, it's really poor for a new customer deal. We pay £21.80 for Sky Q, Boxsets, Sports and Cinema. Usually if you pop on to chat and ask them something random about joining - make out you are a little lost with whats best for you, they will offer a much better saving.

I have the exact same tv package as the poster, but its SKY Q, pay 33 per month , i do have multi screen too for 12 per month

I have had a discount from sky for at least the last 12 years, biggest discount ive ever got was 60% and a 100 quid credit. Most years the discount been 50%

This current discount is about 45% for 18 months...i could have got more if i had haggled or gone ahead and cancelled as i do most years, but was happy enough with the 90 seconds it took given i can afford full price.

As an aside no one should every pay full price for pay tv or broadband, everything has its price and its normally much less than you are paying in this free market...

Still makes me chuckle that you still have to pay a premium for HD. Who actually connects their TV to their Sky Box via scart nowadays!?
I normally pay 30-35 a month for sports, cinema, hd etc and have done for last 10 years but echoing comments above, sky are offering very little just now. Best I was offered was 43 a month but 18 month contract, this was 2 weeks ago so I cancelled. Now 2 weeks from cut off date and they've text and phoned me about special offers, when I go to chat it turns it the special is 52 a month!! Never been so poor with offers in the past but I'll live without for a while is my current take.

Yeah I’ve had the same my cut off day is tomo and the best they could offer me is £39 for everything except sports and multiroom.plus they want a £10 admin charge to apply the offer.thats only 12 months.

Agreed, and I refuse to pay for it. I get HD for most things with my package, Sky Cinema looks great, but if I put on any Sky Sports channel it looks awful. So bad in fact, I stream via SkyGo on my PS4 instead which gives a much better picture. Shouldn't have to do that, but with the package I'm on, they don't seem to want to budge on HD.
Sky doesn't seem to be offering so good deals at the moment, been left for almost a year and get regular flyers in to come back, best offer was £25 for all TV including sports but not movies, current offers are more like £35.

6 gig internet? That definitely is mind blowing compared to my 200mb internet from virgin!
still stupidly overpriced IMHO.over inflated prices that are reduced to a still over inflated,so called deal.it will continue until the sheeple wake up.glad some of us woke up, and fisty pump to those that have managed to get good deals for this in the past.the thing is some people will pay anything for their sport fix,and as long as they do,and that is their right to do so,no one is holding a gun to there head, then expect these prices to remain high for the forseeable future.i for one wont be subbing again until prices get back to sensible levels.but heads up and thank you to the op,this deal might suit some people.

Is it possible to get sky q 2tb for a one off £20

Yes.then you wake up and realise it was only a dream.but in all seriousness i guess if you call then up or go on chat you might strike it lucky with an incredible deal who knows, dont know till you try,but i wouldnt build your hopes up.i am assuming you just want the 2tb for extra storage for your recordings but if you want UHD you will need multiscreen as well,to unlock the uhd footy and some of the uhd content available on demand.
Feel a bit sorry for the OP here, everyone knows they're always a rip off but the deal here is literally its (apparently) available now, to everyone. Not some individual deal to certain people depending on whether or not you get an easy going employee on the other end of the line willing to give you a decent deal..

Exactly. People confuse deals available to everyone compared to deals they (luckily) managed to haggle that others won't get without taking up a lot of time or at all.
Good effort opp.I notice no-one so far has aced it.

Lol yeah a retention deal, useful.
Always worth calling. More than once if necessary, but personally I find Virgin's service hard to beat at the moment. Customer service has been amazingly good, which I didn't expect and there's not been a single hitch 6 months down the line. I only have the tv and internet stuff though. My phone is with Three so I can't vouch for the quality of that.

Haggle til the last moment though. Virgin managed to connect me with two days notice, and it was up and running two hours before Sky were due to cut me off. If a company (Sky) is not prepared to compete, or even try to compete with its obvious main competitor, loyalty should go out the window. They do you no favours and you owe them no loyalty.
I think this is a decent deal, but (being old and thick) I can't figure out what the difference is between the entertainment package and the old box sets? If anything. Anybody know?

Sky VIP are offering 2tb box for £20 to some. Check the app. It was on mine.
Got this deal today by ringing up. I only joined sky on February so too early for retention deals. Was paying £25 a month for entertainment and HD for last 6 months so £15 more for all sports and HD is good for me. Saves me going the pub and spending tenner on beer for each Stoke game.
