Sky Sports TV App - Includes Sky Sports and ESPN - £4.99 Per Month

You can get all the Sky Sports channels including:
Sky Sports 1-4
ESPN
Sky F1
Sky Sports News
At The Races

Really good if you aren't a Sky customer but want to watch the sports channels.

ESPN is £10/13 depending on your package if you are a Sky customer and Sky Sports News costs £4.99 to access the Sky Sports for iPad app if you aren't a Sky customer.

Using the app for a month now and everything has been really good so far for me.

You can also sign up for 31 days and cancel at any time during your subscription period, so it's really good when there's one event or one month of sport on that you want to watch!

I will be using this when the formula 1 starts again, be warned though you can't use this app on a jail broken iPad / iPhone etc and the patch on cydia no longer works either, of you find a source and package that does work to patch this app please post and let us know
Yes you get ESPN for £4.99 only on this app though not on your sky box

Could you hook up your iphone to tv?
Yes you can hook iPhone to tv but using an apple tv box you can watch it for free anyway
You can't hook this up to the tv even using the proper cables. The app disables the ability to output.
Thats cheaper than my BT Vision Sky sports 1 and 2 (plus ESPN) package. Especially if you can hook up the Ipad to the TV! Just hope the feed is good enough to watch via the Internet to ipad to TV.
Is there an iPad version of this available as well?
Not liking the reviews, it seems it can cut out. Can anyone here say what its like for reliability?
I don't get it, sky sports+espn costs about £30 a month so how can this be so cheap?

You'll be able to hook it up to a TV when the latest jailbreak comes out for iOS6.1 which will probably be Sunday

Yes you can get ESPN (and the other channels) for £4.99

The app is only for iPhone, but you can use the 2x function to view it on iPad.

I've never tried connecting it to TV so cant comment on that./..

Reliability has always been fine for me, think there was mb one game it didn't work properly from the reviews?! Worth a go for £5 though.
It won't work on jailbroken devices.
Got this as part of orange mobile deal.. very jittery at times & like already said prone to freezing (even on a good wifi connection)
if you watch anything on your mobile should i be worried about mb data used if you watch a full football match i haven't used it myself because ive always been scared of getting hammered on data charges been stung in the past so i would like to now how much data it would use watching a football match on your phone has anyone.
Whats the quality like? I get Sky Sports/ESPN free with my Orange contract to watch over 3G or Wi-Fi and it's **** poor and virtually unusable due to pixelation, freezes and picture breakup
Been available for a year or two, price dropped to £4.99 last year (from £6 i think) though it would go up again but has not...

great on my iPhone 3GS, and I gave my dad my old iPod touch and he has it on there through my account, for the one payment.

Can confirm the x2 works nicely on ipad as well.
I've used the App for two years and its very good over my orange broadband (only 3Mb download). Also good on 3G if you are in a good reception area. Hot!
Being a bit thick here but I thought you could only get sky sports by subscribing to sky. We only have it for the sports so could I cancel sky and just get this app for 4.99 per month. Cheers

Sky sports is such a rip off to me, but this app is great vale. I only really watch Sky Sports News, and "bits" of football matches.

Is limited to playing on the devices, ie not through TV.

(jail broken iPhone used to be able to do it though with the right cable, not sure if still the case)

Sorry guys, but what does jailbroken mean?

Similar to rooting on android.

I have never done it, it is legal though...kind of frees up you phone to do other things,
Does not work on Ipad 3. Installed as a paying sky customer, with sports package and the app asks me to pay £4.99. Anyone else having this problem?
Possibly a stupid question but, does this still work if I cancel my sports and movies package with sky and then pay £4.99 for this?

Don't think that's true. Don't think the sky stuff supports airplay

I looked at this, apparently not. My S2 allows the app (many android devices do not), but not through a TV (again maybe if rooted etc, but I can not confirm either way

It's a totally stand alone app. I just have freeview at home, and the Sky Sports tv app on my phone

The app is messing up wont let me and brother connect our iPads simultaneously, is it only for one iPad per sky customer?
AHHHHHHH I just got a Nexus 7 would have gone for the ipad if I had known. I do have an iphone 4 though.

This is the big advantage of Apple tablets for me, the Apps. Sky Sports TV works, and Iplayer has more functions.

I have full Sky package, sports, movies, hd, multiroom, ESPN, Telephone and Broadband yet when I try and access this app it tells me I don't have a valid subscription !

You need to use the SkyGo app (?)
That's free if you have sky already.

To sign up to THIS app you need to set up a sky id. I found the process a bit of a pain, (would loop between app and website) but is fine to use.

Ps I often stock up on iTunes vouchers when there's deals about (you know £50 worth for £40 in Morrisons for example), the subscription is paid through your iTunes account.

So I am getting a sky Sports for £4 a month, effectively.
I used this app for 2 years.
Worth every penny. Does freeze time to time but great on 3G with good reception. No probs on WiFi.

Does work and not sure why those ppl leave such reviews on iTunes Store.

It used to have "Temporary network problem" issue back then however never had it for months now.

I used to install "Displayout" from Cydia and connect it to my TV - no probs, excellent quality that you won't believe. Times you won't believe it's through iPhone and not the actual channel...

If you have iPhone 4S & iPhone 5 you may be able to connect it to your tv via Apple TV box so no cables to worry about however we're still waiting for the new iOS 6x JB. I hope @John Coates will update UnrestrictPremium so that we can mirror to TV's. Sky mods argued many times on Sky Support forums that they won't allow Airplay because of legal concerns so Jailbreak is the only option for those who want to port it to their TV's either on cable or wireless...

The price is shambles, I can't believe it's only a fiver when people pay up to £30 through Sky Subscriptions. I feel they're being ripped off and if it was £10 I'd still be paying. I mean we all have smart phones and tablets and we're always on the go so I can't think of any reason why they're offering this service in the first place never mind the price.

+ Still waiting for iPhone 5 full screen support...

Worth trying...

Happy with it and will be using it for whenever. Can't wait to watch El Clasico tomorrow night!

Hala Madrid!

Same here. Full sky world subscriber as well with a sky id
would using an ipod touch and a composite cable make this work on a tv?
My full sky package that includes everything cost just around £8 a month so not hot for me
I can confirm that this will not work with an MHL cable on Android.
You cant go wrong with sky sports for £5 a month, that's pocket change! I have used this app for over a year and it works fine for me.
