Today I connected with Sky webchat team and i was offered Unlimited broadband including Linerental for £8.99 a month. Definately feels like a deal...

Following is from my chat session...

Agent :
If you wish to take up the deal now, I can try to workout something else / for a better deal for you in this chat today. Would that be okay with you?

Me:
even I want to close it - if that tempts me

Agent:
I can Free Broadband Unlimited for 12 months + Line Rental £10 off for 12 months. So your monthly bill for Sky Pay As You Talk £0 + Line Rental £8.99 + Broadband Unlimited £0 + McAfee Internet Security Suite £3 = £11.99 per month for 12 months. After 12 months bill will be £33 per month.

Me:
so, finally you have beaten the offer what I got online

Agent:
By accepting this offer you are committing to a new minimum term for your existing contract for 12 months for each of your Talk package, Broadband and Line Rental services with immediate effect. After your 12 months Sky Broadband & Sky Talk Line Rental offer ends you will pay the full price for your Phone line and Broadband services. You're happy for your services to start during your cooling off period - you can still cancel in that period but you will be charged for services received up to that point. Prices may increase during your minimum term

Agent:
Shall I proceed with the above deal?
Me :
Ok
Agent :
Fantastic! Please stay connected while I make the necessary changes on your account. This will take at least few minutes. I humbly request you to please do not disconnect the chat as I will notify you once the effect has taken place on your account

Unfortunately I dont have Fiber connectivity in my street
Where did you find the original offer that theyve beaten in the end?

I have quoted this offer - https://onestream.co.uk/

Thanks. I can only see £25 for 24 months + £10 for a router with onestream. How did you convince Sky to offer something much better?
Hi what chat did u use
How do I get that offer ?
Is there a virgin media char for retentions

Is there a virgin media char for retentions

Phone only but it's like talking to a brick wall
Im going to guess its only the basic BB,some people will be voting cold as its non fibre but im only on the basic and its more than adequate and the speeds are good too.I think its a good deal and maybe when my renewal time comes round i can get this kind of offer.BUT did you only get this deal because you have renewed or taken out something else ?,The reason i say this is because the transcript you have added our version starts with the Agent saying " if you wish to take up the deal now i can try to work out something else / for a better deal for you in this chat today ". Heat added for the deal if stand alone BB only.
I got the same deal and so did loads other some months back. The web chat team seem to give good deals but better than when you call up.
I was with Sky for Broadband but didn't suit my needs for streaming (e.g. Netflix would buffer once a show) and on-line gaming (signal would drop mid-game). Happened at two addresses, rural and inner-city. Just so others are aware.
how do you connect to the webchat team? i just connected to them but was told they cant do anything in renewing my contract as they can only upgrade and was given a number?
paying the same as that for fibre through retentions

My broadband contact ends the middle of January what would be the best way to get the deal you’re on. Thanks

Thanks was a bit wary of cancelling as don’t want to be cut off and lose my phone number didn’t realise it was 30 days thought it was only 14 so got a bit more leeway time wise

normally a 12 or 18 months contract with 30 days notice as far as I recall

you can always call them up on day 29 and say you've changed your mind. done this numerous times with sky and always found they have one retention deal or another (normally by about day 14). I did have 75% off who package for 2 years. Nothing quite as good as that currently but currently pay 54 for SKY+ HD full pakage with multi room, fibre, phone and line rental

That’s a good deal. Don’t know if you get better deals if tv and broadband ends at same time unfortunately my tv contract doesn’t end till September so will have to negotiate separately

mine dont end at the same time... i think you are better to negotiate them seperately myself
Great deal and some helpful information.
Thanks everybody.
Maybe if next time try speaking to them like a human being and they might offer you an even better deal...
Just managed to get Sky Fibre and Line Rental for £18 a month, I’m an existing customer too.
Sky weren't interested in bartering with me in persuading me to stay with them after I put in a request to move to Virgin media.

It is 14 - It's very unclear on their website but I called them to cancel a few days ago and was told it's definitely 14
Was paying 8.99 PM from last 3 years. Was receiving speed of 6mbps. Now shifted to 20£ PM on Sky Fiber MAX receiving speed of 80mbps.
same for me, happy with that...12 or 18month line rental offer?

Thanks I'll see if I can get a good deal without having to cancel
just reduced my Sky Fibre max and phone line including showing caller number for £20 all in, 12 months...wouldn't agree 18 months but happy with that
They trying to charge me £20 for basic broadband and won't budge.
