I am Glad this post helps you.
Bought one of these for my stepdad at xmas for £105 (only discovered he wanted one the week after black friday), which at the time seemed a decentish deal. He loves it and it ticked all the boxes with it at least having some uses other than a toy eg checking out the house roof and gutters etc says it has 100m range but thats dependant on wifi.
Seen this deal on amazon and have bought one myself
Bought one one for my daughter for christmas. She managed to ditch it in the creek within the first five minutes of flying.
After it dried out it still flies, which was a surprise, but I could not get the camera to work. It would not connect to the app.
Asda sell the 1200mAh battery for these for £12.99 which will give you double flying time. I’ve just to pick mine up - direct.asda.com/geo…tml

Flying over houses may be breaking the law, See the CAA's DroneCode site - dronesafe.uk/dro…de/

The most likely way you may be caught is one of the neighbours thinks your spying on them and calls the police.

You can only fly within 50m of any property you own or have permission to fly over. If your home is by itself with no one closer than 50m you are fine.

If, like most homes, there are other another houses within 50m that you don’t have permission to fly over then you would be breaking the law.

Exactly my point it will be his own home for checking the gutters and roof , this is more a toy then a full on drone. Just waiting to see the queue at the police station with all the kids getting arrested for flying these in their own back gardens etc.

There is a bit of a difference between a toy style drone like this and the proper hundreds of pounds ones.
I understand there needs to be rules and laws for drones but I think your being over zealous.

I agree totally, unfortunately the UK Government doesn't. The rules as they stand make little sense.

There is no distinction in the current rules for a small light weight toy, and the very heavy Watchkeeper drones the RAF use.

If its flown withing 50m of any person or house that they don't have permission to fly over then its breaking the law.
did anyone get this in the end? its around the same price still and is it worth it for first drone.

Don't have a clue about a drone but wanted one to test out, to see what all the fuss is about?
