Sky+HD Remote Control £6.59 SAINSBURYS

22
Found 11th Jan 2012
Just popped into Sainsburys in Edmonton and found an official SKY+HD remote control reduced from £21.97 to £6.59. I could see one other that was there at time of purchase. It is manufactured by a company called SLX and looks and feels just like my original remote.

As I'm on the road I have not uploaded a pic or a receipt but can do for the fussy ones.

Happy hunting guys. Hope this helps someone

not bad i paid £15 for a new one from sky

Giving this some heat especially if it is original one!

have some heat.nice find

Heat added - mine may well need replacing soon seeing as my little girl has adopted it as her phone and its taking some pretty heavy mis-use!

does this remote work on normal sky (not plus or hd)??

Tried this on my sky plus box (non hd version) and it doesn't work. So just for SKY HD then which is unfortunate

Each generation of sky box (standard, sky +, HD) require their own specific remote type. They can be programmed backward though, ie, sky HD to sky+ but you'll need to call sky to give you the code to do it.

still waiting for the "ring sky and get them to send you one for free" crowd

You could always just phone sky and they'll send you a free remote.
Just joking, although I do have a spare one through ringing them, seems a good price. Voted hot

Ctpalin are you telling me I can get this remote to work with my sky plus box?

damm..just got a second hand sky hd box..but no remote, this would be great...might pop into sainsburys.

For all of you that have a dead remote for sky, take out the batteries and keep the 'select' button held in for 30 seconds. Put the batteries back in, give ait a go.... I had 2 remotes come back to life with this trick...

Nonsense, just google it. All the codes you need are readily available on the web, including Sky's own site.

For info, the Sky+ ones will control a Sky+HD box too (no reprogramming required). Though the proper Sky+HD remote looks nicer

No- you can only programme this remote to work with Sky+ or Sky HD

Yes, you should be able to program it to do so:

For most remotes Version 4 and later (white label inside battery cover)
1 Press "TV"
2 Press and hold "Select" and "Yellow" together until red led in remote end flashes twice (On HD remotes "Select" and "i" together) - if it doesn't flash twice then remote cannot be reprogrammed (clone or too old)
3 Press "0" to operate standard box, "1" for Sky+ and on HD remotes "2" for HD - remotes in Sky+ mode will normally control HD boxes as well
4 Press "Select" - red led should flash twice
5 Press "Sky" and away you go

Rather buy one from 7dayshop for £6.99 inc delivery.

Thanks mate very informative and exactly what I did to get it working on my sky plus box.

Although this information is not very well documented across the net.

Plus the HD remote is much nicer than the other older models
