THIS IS FOR OLD CUSTOMERS! NOT EXISTING! (As far as im aware)
As in you had sky but cancelled because they were too bloody expensive!
OK bear with me on this!
We left Sky in September and I just got a few leaflets through the post so I called to find out about the offers we had.

In the end I was offered Sky World (All channels inc Sports and Movies) for £24.12 a month with HD which is a 75% saving
The original price was £13.87 a month excluding HD

I was also offered Sky World (All channels inc Sports and Movies) excluding HD free for 4 months with no contract, just cancel when your 4th month is up! Also a very good deal

So to recap
Sky World (All channels inc Sports and Movies) Inc HD £24.12 a month on a 12 month contract
Sky World (All channels inc Sports and Movies) Excluding HD £13.87 a month on a 12 month contract
OR
Sky World (All channels inc Sports and Movies) Inc HD £10.25 a month no contract for 4 months
Sky World (All channels inc Sports and Movies) Exc HD Free for 4 months!

Was also offered a 2tb Sky+HD box for £49! Why not eh?
This offer ends on the 30/12/12

How to get the deal?
CALL THIS NUMBER AND EXPLAIN THE TWO OFFERS OR THE ONE OF YOUR CHOICE AND SWEET TALK YOUR WAY INTO A 2TB SKY+HD BOX
08442 411 194
I spoke to a really lovely woman called "Claire" in the "Win Back Team" and they are open to 11pm all day every day

Really hope this helped someone!

Je-hezus!! I've paid them close to £5,000 in the last 5 years alone!

Five years solid of being gang-shafted from a posse of 'Mr Big's from the local prison without realising! oO

Sorry Sky - your time has come to bend over for me............................................

Tried my best to get this deal but according to the guy on the phone even staff members don't get this kind of discount oO ended up getting a sky world for £32/m + HD no 12 month contract (I watch sports quiet a bit)

And Ring this to save the premium call charges: 02071267020

Leaving Sky last year was a cracking money saver for me. I thought I couldn't be without it...thats the brainwash Sky make out and you end up almost believing it. After many years of getting a 75% or 50% offer, last year they offered me nothing other than a 10% discount which was pathetic really...I cancelled initially in a "call their bluff" attempt hoping to get a wave of "please come back" offers....at the time I kinda panicked feeling id be lost without Sky...well, its now over 12 months since I left and I can honestly say I havent missed it one bit....ive saved myself almost a grand ( which ive used to book me and the missus a holiday with) and unless they offeree me 12 months for free (or very very cheap) I certainly wont be re subscribing. I only ever used to watch the normal terrestrial channels and sport...bit I stream the sport now via the PS3 so if I went back to sky I would be paying money for something I already get for free.

The one slight downside was the fact we couldn't record on the sky box...but my new tv has built in freesat and records via a hard drive...so that little issue was easily overcome.

Sky do have a good little convenient product....but their pricing structure is stupid. Why let half the subscribers get it half price and the other pay double and feel ripped off. Im pretty sure if their prices were halved they would double the amount of subscribers as many many more people would be prepared to pay.

This isn't really a deal as such as it's an individual specific offer for one person, rather than something that is DEFINITELY available to all ex-customers.

I'm well aware of similar deals with mobile contracts, where if you say you're going to leave and ask for your PAC code you get a call within hours from a special team that can offer you deals nobody else can. But they're tailored to you, although I suspect others are offered the same, or similar, deal.

But I suppose it is a 'heads up' for people to try.

I think I'm going to give this a try.

I've been with Sky solidly for 22 years (I shudder to think how much I've paid them over the years!). I have Sky+ HD in one room, Sky+ in a second room and regular Sky in a third room. I have all the channels, including one HD subscription, and think I'm paying something like £90+ a month!

    I must be mad!!!

Wonder what I would get offered if I cancelled now?

I just rang to cancel. Got offered nothing, so cancelled. Will try this … I just rang to cancel. Got offered nothing, so cancelled. Will try this mid/late Jan when I am out of contract!

I suspect they may well be aware that they've received a 'spike' in cancellations so know something fishy is going on.

The name of the game here is 'slowly, slowly, catchy monkey' - there's no rush. You have a month to run when you cancel so just sit back, enjoy xmas TV and bide your time.

Rarely has a truer statement been spoken. What have I received for being with Sky for 22 years solid? Yep - a premium cost package.

You know, by now I could have saved that money and launched my own damn satellite!!

It's worth going through Quidco and opening an order at full price, then phone up and cancel, then do this deal if you can. I did this last year and not only got 75% off, but also got £100 PAID quidco.

My experience for those that it may help:

Had Sky for 12 months with friends & family discount. Left about 6 months ago, no good offers since. Saw this and rang 02071267020, options 4 then 2. Explained that my friend had received the flyer. He said it was specific to each person. I asked if this was random, he said no it’s based on several criteria; I’m guessing that people who have paid a higher tariff over a longer time are more likely to receive this offer. Anyway he offered me 50% off. Luckily, when I asked about the 2tb box, it got cut off.

I rang back. This time I told the guy that I had received the flyer. He checked the system and said it didn’t seem like I had, but he said to me he would check to see if he could sort it. A few seconds later he said yes. I asked how that worked. He said that if x amount of people have taken it you won’t get it but they hadn’t done so it was ok. In other words, they only have so many times they can dish out the offer.
He confirmed it at £13.something per month, I added HD so £23-odd for 12 months. I then asked about the 2tb box. He said yes as I’m getting HD I’m eligible. That was £49 + £15 p&p so £64.

The 2tb box sells for roughly £200 on ebay. It costs you £64. That’s a difference of £136. HD for 12 months is £120, which you need in order to be eligible. Therefore as long as you can sell it on ebay I’d say it’s a no brainer.

I didn’t ask about the £50 cashback as I felt I was pushing my luck as it was…though I may email them later. The guy I spoke to the 2nd time was really friendly and keen to sort it out. I can’t recommend enough that if they don’t offer you 75% just hang up and try again. It really is down to luck with the kind of person you speak to.

Finally thanks to skaif for posting. You’ve saved me a load of money, so cheers.

    Hope this helps some people.

£24 for a month for rubbish programs - no way!
Had it for a year when was on offer for £18 but is it not worth even this. Movies are way too old,all watched long time ago. All other programs were repeated N times, not impressed with Sky TV at all, but love broadband they offer.

Is that the best thing to do to get a better deal? Don't really want to leave them but would like a better deal.

Presumably you've got a month before you lose it so no rush. I'd sit back and play it cool and expect to receive a call a few days before your notice period is up. If not, and you actually let it expire, then just go a few days without and then see if a call comes. If not, you can then always call them to see what they offer. If no good, tell them where to stick it.

As a new customer this is what I did to get 6 months free Sky. I rang them up enquiring about how much it would cost to purchase a Freesat-from-Sky card. Told them them my Freeview terrestrial box had broken and a mate had leant me his old Sky box. Total blag but I guessed they they might try and sell me a subscription and low and behold they did.

Sky: Our Freesat-From-Sky cards cost a one off payment of £25. But have you ever considered taking out a subscription?
Me: No they're too expensive (that's why I'm on Freeview).
Sky: Well maybe I could do you a deal? How about £20 off for the first month, followed by £10 off month #2?
    Me: Nah still too expensive.
Sky: Hold on a minute I might just have a really good deal to tempt you with. But I'll just need to gain aurthority from my manager before I can offer you it.

Two minutes later he came back and offered me six months free on any package plus a free HD box. Happy days.

Point to note - the OP states its a 12 month contract - its not. The guy I spoke to told me that it was just an offer and I could leave at any time during the 12 months and I was not agreeing to a new 12 month term by taking the deal.

When I asked about a new box he agreed to send me out a new box HD box for free (I had to pay £15 postage) but by giving me a new box it became a 12 month contract

Far too much time spent tempting old customers back and new ones, not enough time spent rewarding those that have remained loyal.

Remember if you're going to contact them regards this deal use saynoto0870.com and find an alternative freephone or landline number they take a cut out of the 0844 number so it's in their interest to keep you hanging on! Don't give them any more money!

Hearing some people say they pay upwards of £75 a month for a TV subscription upsets me deeply. This is what humanity has come to people! Card sharing's much better.

Just called and been told the best deal they can offer me on a like for like basis is £51 p/m.

Goodbye sky it's been emotional. As of the 16th Jan my 15 years with sky will be at an end.

Shall use the money i save to buy a new LED smart TV i saw in John Lewis yesterday.

no point in sweet talking sky you either get lucky or you dont. we have been with them for 20 years asked them for a good deal as we have another company setting up in our area and basically were told no. so we have cancelled. I guess they dont get it. I can live without sky telly. They should value their loyal customers then they wouldnt keep losing them.
