Skylake i5-6600K Overclocked GTX 960 Gaming PC £614.98 Delivered @ Yoyotech

Just got this through my email. Great price tbh. I know some of us like to build a PC ourselves but I've just priced this system up at SCAN (parts only) and it comes to £720.

Considering you get it built for you, overclocked to 4.40GHz and saves you £120 than if you bought the components separately, this is a great deal.

Nice gaming PC upgrade for your son or daughter.

comes with windows 10 so..yeah pretty decent deal I guess

I saw a deal last night much better than this one. Skylake + gtx 970

Not bad at all but why must they use such a low quality psu, also 2gb vram is really low these days

The one without the K processor?

Ok please share it with us

If you're into building one yourself there are some great deals for components with freebies that you could sell on and recover some of the outlay

So for that £720 that you priced the same components for you could probably get a couple of better components at the same price if you're prepared to mess around selling the extras.

Not to detract from this deal, as this is a very good price.

No the one that was a misprice and the ebay seller withdrew the listing and changed it. Nobody got one.

Yeah it had been posted as a deal but many thought it was a price error as it came with the 970gtx and the 960gtx version was more expensive.

I had a system built by scan terrible customer support and they told me delivery would be by a courier but some bloke in a Astra delivered it, build time was three weeks and try calling them you won't get through, great build though.

If this is for gaming, get a cheaper proceser and a gtx 970

Is 4.4ghz a 'standard like' oc for a 6600k?

Which CPU do you suggest?

Which CPU do you suggest?

Depends on budget but the i5 4590 with a gtx 970 is the minimum needen for the oculus rift coming out Q1 next year.

Seems a bit lopsided with a pretty good CPU and average GPU. If you swap the GPU for something a bit better then you might have concerns about the PSU.

Having said that not a bad price for what it is at face value.

960 is an ultra slow card for very low budget PC. At the same time it is very overpriced and makes anyone who buys it a complete stupido. A match for this card is Intel pentium g3258.
In fact that pentium makes a better CPU than 960 makes a graphics card.
This configuration is appalling. Graphics match for this CPU would be radeon 390 at least.
8GB RAM is a good joke too.

It wouldn't be £614.98 then would it? You have to consider if this is a deal at this price and can it be bettered at this price point? The main thing I would be asking is does it have a decent PSU so I could put a GTX 970 or better in there in the future. The CPU is going to do the job for any game out there and for the foreseeable future.

CPU is one of the best you can get, hugely powerful.

And then it's partnered with a mediocre GPU. Very strange choice by OP?

Get the 970 for an extra £94 and you've got a very, very powerful PC. But with a 960 this is being held back.

Edit - Strange, it's £94 to add it to a different PC but to add it to this one it costs over £115, which is a bit of a rip off =/

Click customize PC and you can add or take away as you please. Take away some of the frills and use the money for a better GPU, as the 960 is awful.

PC Master race!

Come on guys seriously - saying a 960 is an ultra slow card is absolute c**p. OP this is a great deal, if a litre lopsided as others have said.

I just built an ITX pc with i3 6100, a 750ti OC and 16Gb DDR3L for under £300. That was with a TT case and a decent corsair PSU.

It equals/betters the performance of a PS4 and exceeds a XBONE. Plays all current games at high setting comfortably at 1080p

A 960 card is considerable better and will make a very, very good gaming machine. Yes there are faster for more money, but isn't there always?!?

It's true the i5 6600k is overkill for gaming - and only useful if your doing lots of encoding or rendering, that said, most GPU's share the workload these days...

But can we please stop trashing good posts with good spec kit, as its Mis-informing folks that don't know as much...

i5 6600k is not overkill for gaming infact its perfect for gaming if anything the i7 6700k is even better for gaming but isnt worth the extra £160

for the others asking, 3.5ghz is normal speed of this cpu it boosts to 3.9ghz, I have mine @ 4.7ghz atm

For gaming you need around 60/FPS for a smooth experience.

Read this post which compares the more popular games.

Better CPU does have an effect, but not really necessary - GPU is more limiting, and any game on HIGH not ULTRA, running with an i3 or better should achieve 60/FPS and be a very good gaming machine.

CPU gaming comparison

By the way it has been this price since mid September.

You reckon the 960 is "ultra" slow? Utter tosh. And the RAM is easily upgradable for not much money. Do us all a favour and check your facts before posting this sort of nonsense.

why stop at 960, go for a 980ti, sli even.

LOL People using fallout 4 as a bench mark test?

Fallout 4 is a graphically easy game to run.

youtube.com/wat…wi0

The 960 gives you 24 frames per second on Witcher 3. TWENTY FOUR.
A 970, which isn't overclocked gives you 44 FPS, almost double the performance for an extra £90-100? Non-contest.

The 960 will struggle in two years time, whereas the 970 will still be playing on high.

They used to have a shop on Tottenham Court Road in London. I saw their prices on the Internet and tried to buy from the shop to save on delivery but it was always higher than the price advertised. They kept sprouting on about 'ecommerce'. For some reason I tried this twice on different occasions and always got the same level of 'service'.

In my quick search to see if the offer was from the same shop as described above I found that they had actually went into liquidation.

Probably from the level of 'service' they provide.

You're right, it is utter tosh. I have a gtx 960 and I've been playing plenty of games on highest settings at 1080p smooth 60fps over steam link without any framerate drops or issues at all.

Just elitists and fanboys hating. Always going to happen.

Build yourself.
i5 6600k
8gb ram ddr4
Evga 970
128gb SSD
Cheap PSU, mobo and case
Ebay for windows key or pirate
all from amazon.es or some EU amazon site for slightly more £ but not by much.
Much better machine and you will be able to resell parts with original box and manufacture warranty and better parts

Heat added because it's a decent deal, but anyone building a PC specifically for gaming in the not-too-distant future would be better off with a more powerful GPU. A 970 would give you more VRAM and more importantly give you everything you need to run a VR HMD (Head Mounted Display) such as Oculus Rift at the Recommended specs.

VR gaming is starting next year and will (imo) be huge, it'll be a bit pointless buying a gaming PC that doesn't have a GPU powerful enough. You could of course upgrade at a later date but I'm a firm believer that for a gaming PC the GPU has to be the most expensive component in the build by as much as possible. Just my twopenneth! (_;)

One thing you DEFINITELY shouldn't do is buy a cheap PSU.

Indeed. Games would perform quite a lot better.
Needs an SSD/More RAM though. Couldn't imagine playing BO3 on that with the game and pagefile on the same drive.
