Install Cyanogen, move all your apps to SD card

Tried the first launch and it was awful. Couldnt hear anything on HSDPA or Wi-Fi.

Promptly uninstalled but might try this latest release.

Skype 1.0.1 for Android.

Apparently it will work if you are on 2.2.

Requires Android 2.1 or newer. Still waiting for it on my Sony Ericsson Mini Pro :-(

Finally it works on the Wildfire.
And it's actually great
Sometimes better than using the computer.

It won't be long until the bootloader is cracked for your device, they you could install a proper ROM rather then the SE intentionally crippled ROM.
