It might have taken a while, but PS3 owners are finally getting The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim downloadable content.

By way of an apology, all of it will be 50% off in the first week of release. There are 3 releases over the next 3 weeks, starting today with Dragonborn, which will cost £6.49 for the first week.

The get deal button will take you to the PS Blog detailing the whole thing!

I'll be downloading that's for sure.

EDIT: I'll update with the £ price of the next 2 when they become available in the next weeks.

Not sure if this works, but here is a link directly to the SEN store for the addon:

EDIT2: HEARTHFIRE, the 2nd DLC pack has been announced at £1.99 for the first week!

Get playing! its a brilliant game

Not a great deal really, everything considered. It should be half this price. And does this actually fix the savefile/framerate issues?

I played Skyrim on the PS3 from when it first came out.. I can cope with the lag, bad frame, bugs. save issues as I have played the fallout games. I don't recommend it on the console unless apparently Bethesda has left it for dead.

Already sunk 170hrs into this...I can't go back for more...can I?

Apparently the readying patch 1.8 has addressed these issues. I'll believe it when I see it though!

I downloaded the patch, it defnitley improves it a lot, but I also removed all but the last couple of save which also helped

I never had any problems at all and I've palyed twice, over 100h each time.

Have they fixed it hard locking the PS3 yet then?

I know it claims to have "General memory and stability improvements" but that's way too vague for my liking. And from my experience DLC usually has an adverse effect on performance. I remember reinstalling Oblivion once without the mods and it just flew - it was like a new system. This whole "one week only" thing smells like an attempt to get as many people as possible forking their cash over before they have a chance to realise that the DLC just makes the problems worse.

That's what you get with the PS3 ! It lags on even the simpler games like FIFA! Such a terrible console - I've never had frame rate problems on my Xbox for said games.. Or any games that I can personally think of for that matter! Seems an ok deal to add, not great but still always better than full price!

I own it on PS3 though haven't experienced the problems people are mentioning here? What sort of things are going wrong exactly?

Issues I've had are the incredibly annoying loading times (not a glitch just a pain in the ****) and a couple of missions that i cant ever get to complete.

This is code for I would like a ps3 but I dont have the dough.

Finally. I deliberately held off getting Skyrim for PS3 until the dlc issues were fixed, finally got it a few weeks back when this was confirmed.

Any cheap deals on psn credit out there? Don't care how cheap it is, Sony still aren't getting my card details after they were targetted last time.

Completely agree, it normally takes about a week or two for the forums to clog up with bugs and the online media to get wind of it. At that point they would've already recouped their costs (and then some) and won't bother to patch the raft of outstanding and new bugs.

it's only after you re-purchase the game on the PC that you realise how flawed the PS3 version is. Plus, with mod support you're not totally dependant on Bethesda to patch the game. I've never known problems like it on a console game. It really is one of the best games I've ever played but it's unbelievably buggy.

dont know whether to get this now, or wait for a bundle where you can get all 3. 19.50 for 3 add ons? still steep in my eyes, especially considering the game is around that price and much cheaper on pc.

As I understand it, when your save files grew to around 14MB the game started to lag in certain areas. Apparently Whiterun was pretty badly effected.

I believe in patches it has at least been improved. I'm on the latest patch and have over 120 hours played (mostly of that on previous patch). Only the occasional glitch, which isn't bad really.
With any game like this, open RPG, its best to save often, and keep a good few saves on rotation. Best thing to do is to set it to save on wait, then when you wait for 1hr+ the game will auto save.

I have it on PC (Steam), i was expecting for a GOTY edition (PS3) but considering how Fallout New Vegas Ultimate was (Lag and makes PS3 unresponsive) no thanks, MAYBE i'll buy the DLCs when they're on sale on Steam, if i even have patience for the game anymore when that happens.

If you don't have a PC nor a X360 then go ahead and buy since it's your only option, still i recommend that you wait a few days before buying and check on forums for opinions/state of the game after the patch and with the DLC.

^ I mean you press wait button, not wait 1hr actual time

But I do have a PS3. And Skyrim. That's why I'm here.

It should be free for ps3 owners.

weird i brought it this morning it said it was free but charged me £5

Think I'll wait and buy it on steam. Considering they are releasing a Skyrim Online Beta

WHAT?!
The 170hrs I spent playing were mostly me waiting ACTUAL HOURS!

FusDohRAAAHHHH

I just paid £14 for the Dragonborn add on on the release date and it's already 50% off, that's pretty annoying

lol
The save on wait function is useful, I also have save on menu after X mins. You can also add save on fast travel etc but I feel that slows down the loading times too much.

I missed the Dragonborn deal and saw that it is back up to £12.99 on the PSN.

Luckily I just got a digital download code for it from game.co.uk for £6.49, so if you also accidently missed Dragonborn at 50%, get it from game

I lent this game to my girlfriend and I don't think I'll be getting it back anytime soon
