Absolutely loved this series when it was on TV and just bought the first series, still as funny as I remember it was! Only £10.99 delivered at Play.com with 4% Quidco and you can also use the 5% voucher if you haven't already used it.

"Trust me, I know what I'm doing!"

In 1986 an unsuspecting TV nation met a new kind of comedy hero who made Rambo look like Pee Wee Herman. David Rasche starred as the trigger-happy lawman whose hatred of criminal scum and yogurt eatin' creeps was matched only by his love of excessive force and a .44 Magnum. Over the next two seasons, this hilariously deranged lampoon of 'Dirty Harry' and plenty of other targets became one of the most notorious series in television history and launched a rabid cult of fans that grows to this day: this is 'Sledge Hammer'!

Episodes comprise:

1. Pilot
2. Hammer Gets Nailed
3. Witless
4. They Shoot Hammers, Don't They?
5. Doris Day Afternoon

Not bad, same sort of price at Amazon if spending over £15.

Series 2 at £11.99 also at Play, is also the cheapest delivered price available.

Aye, I noticed it was £10.97 at Amazon when I did a quick check to see if it was any cheaper elsewhere, but no Quidco with Amazon and only free delivery (as you said) if you spend over £15.

Loved this programme when it was originally on, forgot about it until this thread, heat and rep added

Very funny series this, HOT

Absolute top series - bought this a few years ago.

My wife HATES it - she never does get this kind of thing - I reckon the humour is over her head - she says it is beneath her.

Well worth it.

Also bought this a couple of years ago, LOVE IT, still funny now! Paid much more than this.....bargain.

Be aware that the video falls slightly short of broadcast quality. Looked like they copied it from tapes. The audio is even worse .. one of the worst I have come across from official DVDs.

It was like that at the time though. I recall the announcer at Tyne Tees having to apologise for the poor PQ of a couple of episodes -- and their standards weren't the best to begin with

I used to like this show, is it really that long ago?

"Sledge Hammer, I used to know your father, Jack"

"They've got hostages and are demanding an end to the Star Wars program"
"I agree, three movies are enough for anyone."

George Lucas obviously wasn't watching.

Been wondering for a while whether this show would ever appear on cable/satellite - now I don't have to anymore!
Looking forward to seeing whether Doreau's legs were really as slinky as in my addled memory.
Cheers voted hot.
