Bought one in Argos for 20 quid two weeks ago..life hasn't been the same since then. You just want to save water to sprinkle over your dry plants, and it' been raining ever since.....Summer and Sun where are you...?! Anyway - easy to connect to a hosepipe, done in 10 minutes

Comes with no stand or rain water connector pipe, when you buy these bits separately it will cost you more.

The one in Argos is a whole kit for an extra £5 (comes with everything you need).

Finally Mac stuff got a realistic price. Now.. where do I connect the keyboard

Dang!, I'd tap that!

It comes with a tap, right?

Or you can get the set from Aldi for £18.99 if available

1 month ago, I doubt it.

The Aldi kit was a 4 part stand, those stands are bloody awful (fall apart). You defiantly need a full one piece stand that is alot more solid and better quality. These stands are anything from £10-£15.

Argos do the water but with tap, better stand and water pipe connector for £20.

Is there enough pressure to work with a hosepipe?

Though it is more expensive I think Argos eBay had them £20 + £4 delivery if you dont want to leave the house

My Mrs. could do with a slimline butt. I'll go tell her...

Assuming that you weed a rainwater connector pipe. As the downpipe comes down in our neighbour's garden, we don't.

Why be defiant about it?

Similar to Argos, I bought this one at the weekend from Wickes.. wickes.co.uk/Wic…593
£19.98 with the full kit. Very pleased with it. Today's the first day its rained properly since installing it, so looking forward to some 'free' water when I get home.

Also, little top, I read that squirting a little washing up liquid in the water stops flies and bacteria building, but doesn't bother plants keeping the water clean.

Slimline name suggests I could use it during jogging, can anyone recommend any decent strap to attach it to my back?

Thanks for the warning - will see if can modify to keep it all together...

There's only 100 litres capacity, but hosepipe pressure is more to do with how much vertical height difference there is between the butt and the hosepipe. If it's on its stand at ground level then I think you are just going to get a trickle...

You posted a butt on HUKD!

If you live in a hard water area, great for the final rinse off when washing the car. I have a black car and never have to dry it. It will dry without streaks. I use a watering can.

Title made me think this was some kind of beginner's butt plug

I like big butts. I can't deny that.

me too - they hold more water and you can lift the lid off to fill your watering can by dipping - rather then waiting for ages to fill it using the trickle tap ...

4 part stand, if properly placed, is more adaptable than 1 piece, especially if the ground is not perfectly flat.

Gone off the idea of a water butt since the mosquito issue.

Had a water butt a few years now and no mosquitoes as I have a fine net over the top and pipe entrance is 'tighter than a gnat's ass' funnily enough so no entry there. Just very basic common sense.

Yup when we get the new greenhouse at the end of the season(cheaper) I'll make sure its got a mesh on the pipes.

Don't forget a fine mesh draped over the top. I use the stuff that has been common in the poundland stores for screening home windows against entrance of flies/wasps etc but was fine enough for mosquitoes. Depending on your water butt design the gaps lid-to-butt are the likeliest places for mozzies to get in.

Never buy anything from Homebargain, it has been seven weeks since I have ordered a pool which it was on offer, now they want to
refund me and the only response I get is:
