Do you mind me asking where you bought yours from as I would like to look at the reviews and I can't find anywhere else online selling this particular one. Many thanks

Yes, the edges tear.... Eventually. I still think this is a good price. Almost disposable.

Agreed. My finger just went straight through the first time I fitted one. Definitely avoid.
i bought one of these from aldi last year, and was very pleased with it.....however...do read the washing/drying labels! i put mine in the tumble dryer...thank goodness her indoors realised, and pulled it out as the edges were melting....i dont get asked to do the laundry anymore....:-(

The sides of these mattress protectors is made of a very similar material to value bog roll, only weaker.

I like this product a lot as it really seems to tick the boxes.
Thanks - heat added
Will confess I've just sent mine back , hard to describe the sides , I'm not sure if material is the right word , it certainly doesn't look very durable . I know they were super cheap , but to be honest I bought my daughter a really nice paddedone from Amazon for about £16 from memory and think I'd rather spend a bit more for a better quality one .
