why cold??? its the cheapest isn't it?

Indeed this is the cheapest available but people have a knee jerk reaction to blu ray prices, Probably mostly people who don't even have a blu ray player.

Going to morrisons tomorrow to buy this and use the £5 off a £30 spend voucher.

Voted HOT !

This isn't a movie I'd particularly want in blu-ray myself. It'd be fine on a normal DVD...but since it is the cheapest around, voted hot.

I'm luke-warm on these £15+ Blu-ray "deals". I was an early adopter and have bought many a Blu-ray for this much...but these days you know within a month it'll either be reduced to £10 or in a "3for2" offer...so it doesn't seem like a great deal to be paying £15+ at release...

Yes i agree, in fact blu ray's like for instance falling down & terminator 3 were already part of 2 for £22 deals before they were released.

Tend's to be the 2009 releases that come out for £17.99 then like you say they come down in price (ie: Quantum of Solace ) or are part of the buy 3 for 2 etc deals.

I am in for one when it is £6.95 but for £15..too high price.... this was the yester-year price before Britain ended up with £1 trillion debt by people paying £15 for a DVD , living way beyond our means.

I think you're missing the point of blu-ray :-D

My point is i dont believe 15 quid just to get a movie in HD is worth it. I have a decent upscaling dvd player on 37 inch lcd and dvd seems like the better option at current bluray prices. ive got some films in hd but i refuse to pay 15 quid for a movie which is largely made up of scenes from a tv show!

I take it you haven't seen the film then as about 10 mins in total is from the TV show. Amazing difference between upscaling and blu-ray, especially on a film this colourful.

I certainly wouldnt pay £15 though as it'll be £8.99ish within a few months. If we all refused to pay this kind of money, then maybe the studios would have a rethink about pricing.

This is £8.99 on dvd so if desperate for the film, I'd certainly pay the extra £6 for blu-ray as it has more content:-

Blu-ray only special features: • Slumdog Guru –an interactive option of watching the film that gives the viewer access to special features directly from the film. Contains exclusive picture in picture interviews. • From Script to Screen: The Toilet Scene • Indian Short Film: Manjha • Bombay Liquid Dance

check the small print on the voucher - dont think you can use it in the audio/video dept.

Ive got to say that Fox price there new release way to high. £17.99 is the lowest price on the net for Slumdog and the same was true for When the earth stood still and Taken.

It really is ridiculous when £14.99 is a bargain.

But it is the cheapest you can get this for by £3 so for that reason it is worth posting and is a bargain.

With the credit crunch and the subsequent discovey that Britons had lived beyond their means by a £1,000,000,000,000 (by borrowing too much money to pay for rip off Britain prices, hence the govvernment bail out and impact on tax): the current benchmark of affordable pricing for Bluray is less than £10 and DVD less than £5. Days for £15 and £20 are gone for ever.

Is there a reason why you keep posting this drivel in every dvd post? :whistling:

What science went into posting this drivel! I bought it at £15 and I am not living beyond my means......maybe you should turn all the electric off, crack open the candles and power your DVD player with a bike in order to watch your £5/£10 movies!

Oh dear, at £17.99 its still cheaper to pay that and get it from Britain than it is to get it from anywhere else in the world. More expensive in Europe and the US.

And if £15 is to much for you no wonder you are voting this cold.

Never heard of them........

got it today from morrisons.... thank you for this listing.

and for the blu ray haters. you seem to be missing the point of this forum. a hot deal is when you can find the cheapest deal for an item... this is the cheapest deal.

you watch your "upscaled" version... I'll watch my crystal clear no blurring or picture noise version.

It looks stunning in blu ray compared to dvd, but i want this to be about the deal not the dvd vs blu ray issue.

By buying this I am not living beyond my means, as it costs the same as a night out to the cinema.
