Slush Puppie slush machines now £34.99 at Argos. Very nice with gin or vodka too if you drink alcohol - not that I do of course.

Experience the iconic slushie at home with the Slush Puppie® Machine. Designed to look as close to the original as possible, the fun machine is easy to use and will deliver authentic looking and tasting icy cold drinks. Perfect for parties and celebrations, the maker is easy to use: simply add your drink mix, turn your machine on and leave it for around 25 minutes. You will need to add salt and ice but this does not mix with your slushie: it helps to freeze it. In less than half an hour you will have a fabulous slushie treat that will turn your tongue a different colour, just like the original.

• Slush Puppie® Machine
• Makes 1 litre of slush in less than 30 minutes

• Requires slush syrup (sold separately)

• Add salt, water and ice to machine

• Great idea for parties

The salt goes into the middle, not the drink. I had one of these in the summer, was so excited - but it really wasn’t good. It took so much time and effort and what you got wasn’t quite like a slushy you’d buy - if it was thick enough it wouldn’t pour. So I got rid of the machine and used my hand blender to mix ice with the slushy syrup and that was much quicker, easier and less mess!

Heat for the price by the way but I just can’t recommend the machine! Shame as I love the idea
They are a couple of slush out of it then it stops mixing properly. Save your money and go find a shop with a proper slush machine
Studio had cheap syrups and cups
These are garbage. So much effort for little reward. You would be much better off finding a shop that sells the real thing and buy individual cups when you want them
Arggg if only I had read these comments before, too late though, I bought one aa few weeks back, for my grandson, for Christmas. Not only that I think I paid 49.99 in Robert Dyas so least it can do is work well!!

Try a physics refresher course class-central.com/rep…es/

Salt added to water makes the freezing temperature lower, so more salt in the water, the colder it has to get to freeze, that means the metal part the slush touches will be colder than 0c and form the ice crystals to make the slush.

Yeah, you can make it in a £15 ice cream maker (same principle as this just no dispenser). But I agree, just throw some ice, raspberry essence and blue food colouring into a blender for faster and cheaper results.

If your not bothered about the blue colour too you can use the Lowicz Raspberry Syrup that you can usually find in Aldi/Lidl or the Polish section of Tesco/Asda.
Have a look at the videos online, it is not worth £10!
Not worth the money - spend your money on a proper blender than can blend ice, slushie in about a minute...
I'll give heat for the deal as the only other place I can think of to buy these is CPC - and they are looking £49.99...

The ice and the salt go in the container in the middle. The syrup solution is poured around the outside of this container.

I'm not totally clued up on the physics, but the salt causes a rapid transfer of heat from the outer syrup solution to the ice container - in turn causing the syrup solution to freeze.

You don't drink the contents of the inner container - the ice and salt. You pour that away.

Anyway, we've got one of these, and it's not bad. Yes, it takes a bit of time and effort, but for the kids, it's good fun - they've got their own slushy machine! Worth £34.99, if you've got a little patience. Just a shame the refills are a bit pricey - I think Robert Dyas were selling them at 2 for £8, not sure if that's still the case.

Ryman had 2 syrups for £9.99.
Just add antifreeze to the drink, it's safer than all that salt and gives you that wonderful blue/green colour without using too much unhealthy syrup.

For the idiots out there, this is NOT to be taken seriously.....without this disclaimer some twit would take this a fact

sorry directed at Toonarmy not at your reply
best thing to make slushies is to mix up the syrup with water and put into a 2L old coke bottle 3/4 full. Put in freezer over night and leave out for an hour before drinking.
The large bottle allows you to sqeeze and crush the ice into a slush.
The blender method does work but difficult to get all the ice blended.
Ideal gift for someone with too little clutter in their kitchen
These keep getting posted and they're rubbish, not even worth it at this price. Just check reviews and comments on older posts on here.
