Could someone voting cold please say why? I just realised that a pair of AV senders would be handy, and this seems like a good price.

Can this be used to watch different Sky channels in another room? For example, can I watch Sky One on one tv while my partner watches Sky Sports One in the other room? I know some senders only mirror what the main set shows, which is of no use to us.

No you would still need to subscribe to sky multiroom.

it's impossible to get any magic eye or video sender to watch two different channels from a sky box, you have to have a 2nd lnb installed from your sky dish (and a seperate box such as a skyhd box or freeview hd box) to do what you want.

I thought that might be the case. I'm trying to avoid shelling out for multi-room. My Sky deal is up for renewal, so I will see what retentions can offer me to sweeten the deal.

My main tv has built in freeview, and the Sky+HD box, and my tv in the bedroom only has a freeview + box. I don't think this sender can enhance my current setup, but it's a good deal for those who can use it. Voted hot.

I only just ended my sky after 14 years, to cut the cost... I now have plusnet 73mb from 3mb with sky and i got a Roku.

So far I am trying out Netflix free trial and its got a good choice of TV and movies for 5.99 a month after trial, I like it.

I've got XMBC on my computer to watch TV. The problem is that I don't have fibreoptic or cable in my street, so my broadband speed is only 3mbps, regardless of which provider I go with (currently with Sky), so my options are limited.

Yes, I do this regularly. Our exchange is on the Future Exchanges list; and the earliest we can expect to get fibreoptic is around 18 months time, so Christmas 2014 or later.
