It sits on top of the TV in your bedroom or other remote viewing point. It sends the remote control signals from the bedroom to the Sky digital receiver in the living room via the same coaxial cable that is delivering the Sky pictures to the television. Thus enabling you to change the sky channel without being in front of the sky box.

Simpler version. It lets you watch Sky in a different room and still be able to switch the channel by connecting the sky box to another tv using a coaxial (aerial) cable

EDIT I thought there was an issue with connecting them to SKY HD boxes but comment below suggest otherwise, may be worth double checking

Watch the same satellite channel and control your satellite receiver from a second TV in a different location. Run coax cable from your Satellite Reciever's RF2 output to another room, attach the magic eye and you can watch your satellite channels and change the channel on the reciever. Suitable for Sky, Sky + and Sky HD. Instructions supplied

Good news - I use the very same SLX Magic Eye on my Sky HD box and it definitely works a treat! Can't remember what I paid for mine but it wasn't as low as £4.99!

I have my sky box in a closed cupboard under my tv with only this thing sticking out. Let's me change channels and keeps the kids little fingers out of the sky box. Nice bit of kit. Easy to set up.

Quality output is VERY VERY poor compared to scart or even 1080i HDMI. However the best option to obtain 100% quality at 1080i, is

1) Purchase this item (it's great) - install then you can use the "remote feature"
2) Purchase a HDMI Spliiter not a cheap eeebay version but something like this from Amazon

3) Install by running an extra HDMI feed into the new TV, then you get 100% quality and feed, albeit it works out more but quality is SUPERB

If your gonn do that, I'd rather use this

The SLX magic eyes are rubbish!! I used to have 6 connected to a splitter and they were always having to be unplugged and reset!!

Changed them all for these store.yourdigitalhome.co.uk/med…tml
which are much better, no problems at all and they are much smaller and look much nicer.

Craigstephens - but you still have to run the magic eye to get the remote feature - look at the reviews on amazon for the splitter box i mentioned - its simply spuerb
