'Breast is best'
At present, companies are not allowed to advertise formula milk for babies under six months.
But they are allowed to promote so-called follow-on milks, a range for children aged between six months and two years.
So there really is no ban on advertising this milk as it is for toddlers.

Quite a lot of babies get constipated on powdered milk, but usually just changing to a different brand helps. - or switching to cows milk in my sons case

not coming up Online is it in all the tesco shops

Going by my post on moneysavingexpert, it seems for some people the offer shows, others not.
So it may just be some stores...

Thanks. Picked some up from the Alfreton store yesterday. Said full price on shelf but scanned at half price.

For babies over 12 months they do not need formula milk - ordinary full fat cows milk is fine. As long as they are getting a balanced diet they will get all the vitamins and nutrients from that.

They have the huge tins of red sma 6m+ in Asda for £7.50 theres almost double the size of normal tins. They are reduced after the baby event

Agreed

always wondered why its fine to drink cows breast milk but people are squimish about breast feeding.

i posted the £5 deal at asda and i thought that was a bargain...HOT!

the thing is cows milk is alright for during the day between meals, but at night my little ones get hungry and the cows milk won't keep. So we usually make them a bottle each using this because it doesn't go off like fresh milk would.

With regards to the constipation thing, as long as your baby has a balanced diet and enough water then they should be fine!

I agree with this, I have three children and have always given them full fat cows milk from 12 months onwards, this seems an unnecessary expense and as for the minerals and vitamins, most foods contain these anyway.

not reduced in my store in newcastle yet........

Should be half this price again. Completely unnecessary, hence why they are allowed to promote it. Babies should by this age be eating a full balanced diet and this will be absolutely (and taste much better) complemented with Cows milk. (I use full fat organic myself). Just a money making product by evil milk companies, preying on the consciences of first time worrying mothers.

We only have it as our daughter prefers a bottle of this to cows milk at bedtime.

Anyone who is willing to give highly processed formula milk should 1st read this article from the ecologist!!

They were the tins that were £10 in th baby event, mine reduced them last night so may be worth keeping an eye on them

This is hot for me, I thought £10 for 2 in boots was brill!!
I buy this cos my 2nd son just gets too hungry with cows milk & wakes in the night. With formula he goes through. Also it works out so much heaper than buying fresh milk all the time.

Mmmmm fake milk, because nature knows nothing......

Not everyone has the option of breastfeeding.

Why has this become a debate on formula being bad...
Thought the idea was to post a good deal .. not got stick for using the product..
I breastfed my lil one till he was 11 months.. he is now 2 and still has formula as i dont feel he gets enough vitamins etc and like other posters have said he has cows milk during the day but at night the formula keeps him alot fuller and he sleeps better..

Duhh, this is a toddler formula. No one has suggested feeding actual babies cows milk. However if people want to line the pockets of formula companies for no real benefit, or because they are unable to insure their child can receive the vitamins it needs from it's diet (although that is a very poor show with toddlers) then that is their right as parents.
Organic cows milk maybe more expensive, but for an infant I would rather pay the extra and know my child is getting good quality milk, rather than processed chemical milk that has not come from organic sources and is not needed. But then I also home cook my child an adequate diet.
