true, definitely not for those with low self confidence.

anyone dare to drive this on a dual carriage way at 70 mph?

super cute to drive around in London though.

Didn't they smash one of these into a brick wall at 70mph and the shell remained intact? Despite the plastic panels, they have quite a tough frame.

Still would never get one though.

Probably be far fewer accidents if everybody did, especially if you made the body out of balsawood, removed ABS, air bags and seat belts, and put a ruddy great spike in the centre of the steering wheel!

Erm, you're suggesting this is worse than a Prius? HAHAHAHA.

In my opinion yeah - a lot worse! it's only half a shi#te car. technology and economy wise the Prius is mint!

you put the wrong picture up - you get the new Smart FourTwo

Looks like it's for this bubble car-esque smiley looking thing?

Got a good lease on a forfour and it's fits my needs. Commute in busy traffic each day. Worked out about 3k for the 2 year lease. Fully loaded, heated leather seats etc

for two. wrong picture though as thats the old shape

Prius oO

I don't have one but I'd have no issues driving one, it's a tool to get you from A to B.

Love all the alpha males here.

I think it's a great looking little car.

Great deal. Sod the car snobs. The mk1 was safer than you would expect and I am sure they will have improved. Like the other chap said, tool to get you from a to b, I too would drive this if it suited my circumstances.

Where as you just blend in with every other Uber driver, which is sort of like going to a scat party and also covering yourself in fecal matter.

Refuse to drive this but happy to wear shiny suits, pointed shoes and call yourself a salesman or estate agent, how fickle some people are...

and of course you can lease it for £99

my mrs had two smart cars, i had no problem with driving them... found them really roomy and a decent laugh to drive as well. I drove the new one recently when my merc was in having some work done, think i preferrred the mk1 shape and drive to be honest ... that had a lot more character .... this just feels like another small car.

Well yeah, it's gonna. It's a Renault platform.

I think all new drivers should be limited to 1 litre engines for the first 3 years.

What you don't realise though is some 1 Litre engines can go like sh*t off a hot shovel but this Smart car not being one of them.
Some of the new Ford 1 Litres could thrash older 1.6 Litre engines quite easily.
New drivers should be restricted to engines below 60 bhp.

Friend of mine holds a world land speed record in a basically stock Smart car. OK, it's a slightly obscure one - "fastest diesel engined production car under 1 litre" or something similar, but it's still an accredited world record.

Well exactly, I don;t drive myself but let's face it, once you take away all the macho preening, the only differences between one car and another are what colour it is and how fast it can go. If I did drive, then I'd probably go for something like this as it looks compact, efficient and eco-friendly.

You must be very insecure if you choose your car based on what it looks like.

I've seen a few of these driving down the A1 like an absolute rocket! Not sure if I would be so ballsy.

I've just bought a C-Max 1.0l ecoboost and that thing can pull considering its lugging around almost 2 ton of car.

Quite cool - Heat Given.

Although I'm not a fan, I think this is the perfect short-distance commuters car.
Or a housewife (or should I say house-person) that doesn't need to do too many miles.

Built by Mercedes-Benz remember - this thing will have bulletproof reliability.

Yes, that's because the car is so small and light there's less energy to disperse compared to a large heavy car. The crashes you don't want to be in are a head on with a large family car were the heavier car not only stops you but punches a very light car back in the opposite direction - momentum conservation principle, crumple zones only do so much.

Whenever I see a Smart car all I can think about is this.
