Bargain, my favourite launcher by far

see, i like the google now launcher. I guess I want to try and get my G2 as vanilla as possible without putting something on there like cyanogenmod

Me too!

My favourite launcher too, very simple and quick.

I tried to like this launcher but it as too alien and unintuitive for me. Hot hot heat for the price though!

Very simple launcher that helps with battery life. My launcher of choice and for 10p it is definitely worth a go.

Is this better than Nova? And more to the point is this better on a Sony Z3 than Nova?.

Heat for the price all the same

I've tried every launcher, and this is the one I come back too. It's simple and yet incredibly powerful.

Can you lock the position of apps on this?

Absolutely fed up of accidently dragging my apps from one window to another or deleting them for the screen altogether by mistake!

There is no such thing as "better" with launchers really, just personal preference. If you like to customise every little bit of your setup, then you're probably best with Nova.

Personally, I find the simple way SmartLauncher autocategorizes my apps means I dont need loads of folders or gestures to quickly load things, and my homescreen stays simple and clean. I'm using the Z3 too.

Much prefer nova but will give the pro a try.

Not sure about this one but apex launcher has a lock function

My launcher of choice. Use it on a couple of Moto Gs and a Moto E, works flawlessly.

Yes you can. Long tap the home screen and from there you can select "Prevent modifications".

But mine is set up so that there is only 1 screen and swiping from the right brings up the 'app drawer' . Not sure if that's the default though.

You could try the free version first and see if you like it. It's only 10p, but every little counts!

Use Nova but for 10p (of Google credit) I'm going to give this a try. Thanks OP!

Not that Good. as it Looks... But many will Like its simplicity. Takes a Day to get used to it. btw Heat

Please excuse my ignorance but what on Earth is a Launcher?

It's the front end of your experience with Android, think of it as a framework or theme settings for your Android phone which allows you to customise everything from the number of home screens and icons you have, down to what each button does.

Standard Google Android has its own one, other manufacturers may skin the OS with theirs (ie. HTC SenseUI or Samsung TouchWiz) but one of the many beauties of Android is that you can change it to whatever one, or however, you want.

Many thanks, I've got an Android phone but not sure it would benefit me

Using a Nexus with stock vanilla android and Google launcher, even I'm tempted to see what this is like for 10p. Anyone experience of it running on a nexus? I'll still probably buy it when I get home though.

I moved to Smart Launcher a few months and was more than happy to pay "full price" ie. a couple of quid for the Pro version. At 10p it's a no brainer!

The knack with it is to realise that practically you only use a handful of apps regularly, hence why have loads of home screens chocker with apps you rarely use and too many widgets, resulting in that mad left/right scrolling trying to find something!? I have a beautifully simple home screen, and use the fact that you can define double tap actions on the "bubbles", so a single tap takes me eg. to my work email, and a double tap to my personal email. Then a screen of very select widgets (why you need to pay your 10p for the pro version) to the right, and I find any other occasional app within a couple of letters worth of typing its name in the search bar or occasionally by going into the drawer view on the left.

Looks beautiful on my Voda Smart ultra 6 with Minimalist Clock Widget at the top and a subtle live wallpaper behind it!

Yep ... I ran it fine on my N4. Following my upgrade to the Smart ultra 6 the other week, have now passed my N4 to my youngest and have a super pared down home screen using it for him.

Yep ... you install an extra notification plug in and enable it, and then it adds unread badges for key apps. Pro version only I imagine.

Yes. There's a plugin to download that enables it.

I still dont get it after having tried it (the standard version). Like you say I need a handful of apps that are on my front page. No mad scrolling at all as I have everything on my front page. All this seems to do is change the appearance and perhaps make it look a bit prettier. But my G Flex has live wall papers, enough space to put my 8 or so commonly used apps on one page and I am done. In terms of swapping between mail accounts, I just click mail and within mail I can choose which account I want to see. So 2 separate single taps vs a double tap in your case. Forget the cost, what can the launcher do for me that my native screen doesnt already so?

It is a serious question, am I missing something? Or is it only certain phone with a poor skin that will benefit? My phone for eg: has enough space on the screen to accomodate 17 apps/links plus a clock/weather widget. So maybe the fact that I have larger phone with the screen estate negates the need for such a launcher?

Snap, i only have one screen, and use gestures on top of the bubbles (which are set to two apps also)

Love some of the quirky features, tap for widget or double tap for secondary app etc.

It's a bit different from the 'power' launchers and at first it seems a step backwards. Almost like counter-intuitive to Androids free for all standard launcher. But I tried so many and finally this one just seems to work so well. Instead of swiping through pages and pages, with this launcher it just seems so quick and easy.

I think it's fair to say that other launchers can be used simplistically too with only a handful of apps with icons (as you're proving), but many people don't do that and end up with multiple crowded home screens. Hence for you it might be other more subtle things with Smart Launcher eg. how it auto-classifies into an appropriate drawer vs. the traditional single app drawer with every app in one big view that you get with a standard launcher. Also things like double tap actions or pop up widgets are useful features.

Fundamentally all the different launchers do do very similar things ... home screens with icons and widgets and an app drawer ... but they have useful differences too if you're into such things ;).

Top launcher at awesome price!

im a longtime nova user but for 10p will buy it.

Didn't think I'd do well with this. But for 10p I really enjoy the app. It's a refreshing change over stock 5.1 Samsung note 3. It's fun changing settings to a smoother experience.

Thanks for the post, heat added.

I use this and it's awesome, worth every penny and then some
