Most aftermarket wheel trims from Halfords, ASDA, etc. really do look awful and knock £s off your car. If the pictures are anything to go by these look more like OE trims (a couple of the styles anyway) and at £9.99 a set should be a cheap way to tidy up your car without breaking the bank if yours are tatty or missing. Also looks like they have proper secure 'spring wire' fixings like the OE ones (cheap ones often rely on the plastic itself). OE trims are usually £15 and upwards EACH!

I'll have a look when I go in to buy the screenwash!

Thanks for posting the pics Bunglistik (I don't know how to do that).

I think all except the third one look pretty good. Wheels need to be matt black for best effect (but brake dust soon does that anyway!).

Had a look in store today. They are doing them in a dark grey finish too, if that's your thing.
If you are in the market for new trims, you won't get them much cheaper. Therefore, voting hot, despite not liking any of them.
Nice Price Hot
Save a tenner and pinch them off someone elses car lol*

*No I don't do that, I always buy a car with alloys.
Oddly enough the type who use cheap custom lights & accessories etc. seem to get more action, as opposed those that sneer, who, in my experience are much more likely to spend a lot of time indulging in masturbatory habits.

There's some truth in this. But there's also a worrying trade-off between more quantity and lower quality. However. for £9.95, a risk worth taking I'd say. Bring on the skanks!

And whilst your alloys are rotting away over another freezing winter, mine will be stacked in garage whilst a cheap set of steel wheels and winter tyres, (with these natty covers) will be doing sterling work in the slush. Good luck finding cheap alloy replacement deals!

I think anyone who takes the time to make an observation like this may well indulge in the aforementioned habits themselves!

I have to agree that aftermarket wheeltrims do normally look shocking so not sure these are any different, though they are cheap!
Next week Lidl is bringing out a kit to turn any old car into a Subaru Impreza, to enable every ambitious chav to have the car of his dreams. Includes blue paint, a pedal bin to replace the exhaust, gold spray paint, black sticky-back-plastic and four baseball caps. No insurance required.

Wheel sealant and a bottle of bilberry cleaner will take care of your winter alloys. Better off putting winter rubber on your standard alloys and putting some cash towards a nicer looking set of fair weather wheels rather than spending on steel wheels IMO (unless you're lucky enough to get them at the scrappy for £10 a pop or something). Of course, alloys are easier to damage but look far better than wheel trims.
Stop kidding yourself people. These cheap wheel trims look the same as all the other cheap wheel trims available out there.
Omg
Taking alloys off for winter to stop them rotting.
Never a bigger load of crap spoken on these here pages.
seriously though I can see one that matches the ford focus wheel trim which is £20 for 1! Now having lost my wheel trim in the car wash I might have to go and get some!
PMSL, if you get yourself a set of these for the winter as soon as you hit a pot hole or kerb one they are gone to the big graveyard on the roundabout where all the other orphaned wheel trims end up.

Never had any of my alloy wheels rot in the winter, why would they?

Not sure what kind of wheels you have, but my 12 year old VW alloys are in as new condition with 200k+ miles on them, with no more than soapy water cleaning them.

HUKD TOP TIP: whatever kind of wheels you have it's best to drive AROUND potholes and keep a safe distance from the kerb!

Seriously, better to damage £10 of plastic than your alloys and these do have proper spring wire securing system, not just plastic tabs.

PS all my cars have alloys too but i know a deal when I see one and I think these will be fine on daughter's 107.

What a bunch of plebs on this thread!

Alloy wheels rotting...Absolute tosh I have never heard such drivel in my life..You people are obviously very uneducated if you think alloy wheels are going to rot..The worst they do is pit under the salt on the roads and there ain't much of that about nowadays as the councils never salt grit the roads anymore..
And as for anyone going on about these trims coming off in potholes, easy fix cable tidy them onto your wheels job done they will never come off!

I don't use cheap custom lights or accessories and I disagree with your statement as I get lots of action..

You are meant to drive in one dirrection on the roads, not round in circles trying to miss potholes. If you try and avoid a hole you are more likely to kerb the wheel.

Driving into a pothole is not compulsory and with a bit of attention is usually avoidable. My alloys are powdercoated so I avoid kerbing them too.

are steel wheels stronger than alloys?

Decent alloys are designed to be lighter and stronger than steel but are harder to repair if you hit pot holes and kerbs.
