Nice light at this price. I got one from planet-x for the same price last week. Very bright but I have found that my wireless cycle computer doesn't like it.

good reviews. apparently this is a 2-watt "thrower" (focused beam). wonder how they get 5 hours runtime on high, if true that's impressive. next lowest price i can see is £25. i'll take two, thanks.

good post for your first deal, doubt it'll get that hot though since it's not obvious it's good and the clocks just went forward

the interference with your computer is due to EMI from the regulator. this is probably a Cree-something and runtime on good NIMH is probably 2-3 hours before dimming. what makes it good is the fitting for bikes (lots of different brackets available if its their standard mount).

ah just saw this

"Due to our yearly stocktake there will be no dispatch from Friday 1st until Tuesday 5th April"

Looks good.

How does it compare to a 4 x AA opticube?

Don't bother with these. Go to Dealextreme and buy a 200 lumen cree torch with a bike mount. Grand total will be around £15 delivered.

yes but a few issues..
1) mount
2) quality control
3) delivery time

actually this may still take a week for the reason i posted above

Just ordered one ,have been looking for a good light WITHOUT breaking the bank (Great reviews on Amazon )
Cheers.............

I bought 2 from Planet-x last week.

Read in a review somewhere that using 2 as a pair makes a great combo for cycling on tracks at night. - One for distance & one for ground ahead of you.

Still £14.99 @ Planet-X - delivery may be quicker if thats an issue?? "Click here to see - Bright light, Bright light"

Agreed Smiff, some of the torches are naff, but just read the reviews. I purchased this torch and it took a week, pretty good from HK, and is excellent quality.
I've had the rest for some time and they're decent quality stuff.
There are plenty of others, friends bought the 900 lumen torches, pretty big but still fit on the handlebars of a MTB fine with the added bonus of a car headlight, great for nigthtime forest rides.

Ordered mine Tuesday night, dispatched yesterday, arrived today.

Lights from Deal Extreme may be brighter and cheaper, but I want a bike light not a torch.
A 35 minute run is no good to me, and I like the flashing mode for around town. Also don't want to have to remember to recharge batteries every evening. I've tried that approach and there is always a time when you forget and your light dies (very quickly) when you are only half way home.

Still, each to their own

Furry muff. I always carry a spare battery, been caught by that one before, but only once.:p

Agreed tried deal extreme quality was poor and run time was one ride, this is just what I needed

Hot deal, just ordered one, thanks OP.

Also tried this Deal Extreme one, was blown away by the brightness and the strobe mode. Looked pretty good quality and came with a bike mount but looks like the vibrations have taken their toll on it as it now switches mode when cycling. Still a great torch though.

Yeah LostBoy, I have the same problem with two identical lights from dx, annoying but other vice those lights are good, just need to check them every 5 min or so as they keep coming out of the blinking mode.
