Why would they need 5Ghz? 2.4GHz is far better for distance and reliability.

From what I've read, the 'new' version of this may be using a Motorola chipset instead, and thus won't flash (and doesn't have the energy monitoring mentioned). I'm not sure if anyone might be able to confirm or not.

Anyone have any of these, if you do how are they (i.e. have they lasted).

Would like to know that too

Also, are they ‘smart life’?

I have got 4 of these and have been using them for several months. They do work with the "smart life" app perfectly.

Fakespot is broken, has been for some time now.
I wouldn't use that as a yardstick else you'd never buy anything.

Voted hot for 13A and price.
This or tp link anyone??
Works ok but be mindful mine covers the on off switch on the plug socket meaning its always in the on position.

Sorry if I'm being dumb here but for these to be smart and turn on when u use the app doesn't the plug need to be always be in the on position anyway?
I've got 8 of these and have been using them around 18 months without a single issue. They are spot on and a lot nicer looking than the tplink monstrositys

You must have the old version. New version has a recess so it does not cover the actual switch as shown in the OP pic
I have 6 of these in total and they are spot on.

I have the older model. Same but look different. Work well, very very rare that they lose wifi, usually because the router fails. I have 8 and only 1 developed a fault, it works but makes a high pitched whistle. I would recommend.
easy set up
reliable
good app
pairs with echoes really easy
bargain

Easy to setup and pretty reliable. Best of all - you can tell Alexa/Google (or schedule) to turn off your lights when you are falling asleep reading a book.
Purchased couple of these as per recommendations, setup was bit funny didn't want to connect. Got there in the end, pretty seamless off/on. Chuffed.

Cheers All.

Table lights / floor lights?

They are great for me. I like that they have power monitoring as well. The app is useable. They were brilliant for the Christmas lights.
Alexa turn on reindeer.
Alexa turn on Christmas tree...

Also useful when children aren't doing good listening. Alexa turn off television!

I bought another 4.

The only issue is they do foul somewhat on the switch. Not a biggie but you can see here. So turning them off pushes it slightly out of the socket. There definitely is no chance of any finger going behind it though.

Is it controlled only with the Smart Life app?
Thanks for posting, we have added this to the Highligts pages
Thank you, ordered!

I ran a few products through Fakespot that I and the missus had reviewed in the past. Turns out the missus has a number of 'least authentic' reviews, which reminded me to upgrade her software to the latest version.

Is that still an issue with the newer ones? The product images seem to suggest they're now slightly offset.
These newer ones don't interfere with the switch but don't have energy monitoring. I use the ones with energy monitoring on big wattage appliances like an oil filled radiator.

I've got the new and old square ones and the round ones and have been using them since the summer with no problems or dropped connections. They're all running through Google Assistant as well.
I have 2 of these and they work well with Smart Life, and then configured to Alexa or Google Home. Good for 14.99. Heat Added.

Not sure what you mean?
I have 6 of these can be tricky connecting as there is x3 ways for setting up but once you have this sorted the work Absolutely fine, I even had mine outside controlling the Christmas lights
I’ve been using them for about 6 months. Have 9 of them:-) they are great and I’ve had no issues. One thing though, they only work with 2.4Ghz not 5Ghz wifi

Anyone know if these sockets phone home like the TPLink ones do, even when set to offline mode?
