Definitely a smart watch...

The advert says a Smart Watch and some of the features suggest its a smart watch, who are we to argue?

suppose it's slightly better quality than the ones floating around eBay for a tenner.

but then you can get this first edition pebble watch on eBay as well for the same price so i know what one i'd choose ..

That's the start price, the final price will most likely be higher.

would you really like to put this product into same category with apple watch, moto 360, pebble or samsung gear? or maybe should it be called "subsmart"? fleabay is full of similar gadgets for tener delivered so cold for me.

It definitely won't attract apple snobs

Good luck selling your pebble

it's not my pebble actually. i've got a pebble time and i've had one for months.

the point being, as much as i hate the "why not pay more" crowd, you can get a first generation pebble for around this price or not a great amount more and it'll do far, far more than the one in the deal.
The led notification does no more than your phone vibrating. Sorry, I just don't get it. A £10 ebay watch does more.

I have some seaweed, driftwood and old clam shells for sale if you are in the market

That first generation pebble watch looks hideous.
I can't believe anybody would pay for that.
It looks like a proof of concept watch, which requires major design work to get it ready for the paying public.
Cold. You can't flash it to be a toaster.
Wonder if they can be jaibreaked and used on a Droid. That would be a clever Jobs.

that's probably why they managed to sell only 1m + within less than year:)
What IQ does this have?
what is the battery life ?
After watching the promo video I wouldn't pay a tenner lol

A bit touchy there, makes you sound an apple fanboy.

since you can seemingly interpret an emotional state from ascii characters on a monitor, you clearly missed the sarcasm

and using the word "fanboy" makes you sound about 12 ..

Totally agree with you, I bought a Pebble (the original model) from Gumtree last month, £25, very happy with it. Does everything I need it to and I love the 5+ day battery life compared to higher priced alternatives with only 1 or 2 days battery.
Wondering whether to buy one tomorrow.
Anyone had one of these and is it any good?
any good? should I go and get one ?

Please could you tell me if the clock alarm is one of the type that wakes you up at the best sleep cycle.
how do you get the step etc to work??
Bought one, charged and played around with this and it's horrendous, don't bother, really it's dire, I'm a fan of aldi and its quality, this is not one of its better offers, going back tomorrow !

really. i picked one up today. seems pretty robust. just been playing around with the settings and it all works as it should do. for £30 it tells the time and notifies you of messages, emails, phone calls and missed calls through vibration, beeping, watch flasing or all 3. Perfect if you cannot hear you phone whilst working or if you phone is on silent. it also has a step counter, calorie counter etc, again seems to work as it should but i personally am not bothered about this feature. it also has an alarm, again not worried about this either.
yes it is quite basic but for £30 what would you expect.
you need to download the app and control the phone via that. also it comes with a neat charger where the watch sits on top of it.
I will be giving it a good try over the next week before i commit to keeping or return but for now it seems decent enough for the money.
Looks like the only things it does extra to Miband is having the camera shutter function and having an analogue clock face. It doesn't look like it does the phone unlock screen thing either. It's pretty ugly, three times the price and I bet it still doesn't sync with myfitnesspal etc.

I doubt it, such smart alarms are determined by the application software and its connectivity with apps such as "Sleep As Android". The current software for these Crane watches is very basic and there is no support from third-party vendors such as IF.

At the moment you're better off just using your smartphone for this, even then you should really only regard this as experimental.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll get the Miband as that has this function and is better supported by apps.
