I've had mine for a good 5 years now and it's still going strong - May need to get a new one soon as the plunger is starting to get a little tight to push down for some reason!

I think they're great - if you like a proper cup of coffee then this is ideal as you've got your cafetiere and mug all in one - very easy to clean too and a bargain.

In fact - I've just gone and bought another one.

Sold.. Thanks for the info ..

I bought one a while back when they were on offer. I can only suggest grab one while you can - the coffee is excellent, and they are easy to wash. Great for office use if you can't stand the instant stuff.

White.

Got one for wifie for Xmas for her work.

She seems to like it.......

..........or she hates it, thinks its cack & is just humouring me

They are great!

Never heard of this but looks damn awesome, bought one.

I bought one a year or two ago and it's great in principal but I dont think the plunger is that great on mine. On occaisions it tends to have bits floating around which need to be spooned out taking out 20% of the drink!! Maybe it's just mine...

ashame they don't have black one

They aren't bad but are prone to leaking coffee grains into the cup if not pressed down exactly perpendicular. I much prefer these bodum.com/gb/…4B/ More expensive and still plastic but no grain leak and best of all the plastic lip is much more desirable than on the SmartCafe.

SmartCafe is still worth a look in but have found these to be better.

Before you look at these, Google 'Aeropress'

Best coffee you'll taste, quick and easy to clean. Great for the office.

I want to have my proper coffee more often, so this might just be the perfect solution. Thanks!

I use this at work, great for real coffee and you dont have to wash a cafeterie and a cup just the one item. You can use the plunger to vary the strength of the coffee you have too, ie plunge more for stronger coffee, plunge less for weaker.

Paid about the same a while ago for my two. Perfect for the office.

I am not into coffee much.
So, how to use this? any special coffee to be used?
Anyone?

Thanks, ordered 2 (one for hubby). Been looking around for something similar for ages now.

thanks.

I bought 2 of these recently, 1 for home and 1 for work, they are fantastic. I use them with a tea bag for a strong cup of tea. Bargain at this price ( £9 with free delivery recently ).

Just use normal ground coffee like a cafetiere, don't fill to the top though and you won't get any of the bits in your drink.

Can be had for similar prices but price is not an issue when it comes to the black stuff, if it is - stick to instant.

Decided to give one a go based on the very good reviews. SO, thank you op.

All I need now is some Blue Mountain coffee to try in it.

Very good product I have two, one for home and office, they can obviously double up as a camping mug. Fresh coffee without the fuss.

These keep liquid warm about twice as long I would say.

Going to give this a go for the house as I'm the only caffeine feind
Thanks OP

I don't know about this, how easy is it to clean? Because paper cups are much easier, obviously the coffee is not the same, but it isn't that much different is it.

??????????????

These are really easy to use and the best item i purchased for xmas.. One cup filter coffee with no mess.

It may seem stupid but here's how to use..

Remove the plunger
2 Teaspoons of filter coffee
Poor in hot water, stir
Leave for 2mins (depending on how strong you want)
Insert plunger and press down slowly
Enjoy you drink

However its now gone up to 7.99 !

Why faff about with one of these..

Percol Espresso in an aluminium colour jar, can be found in Tesco, Asda, etc etc

Its the real deal and no faffin about paying silly money for this cup and then paying for filter coffee, and all that washing it out too! What a palava..

Tastes totally different to filter coffee though. There are definitely some decent instant coffees out there but it's not the same drink at all and I'd hardly say £5.70 is silly money for a cup...

good product but not £10 for P & P for 2...............rip off

The deal was for amazon which offers free delivery. See more buying choices like it says in the title, though it's now listed as 1-2 months for delivery.

Says "usually dispatched between 1 to 2 months".

Ordered, looks perfect for work, thanks for posting

I would! and theres no difference between the Percol espresso and standard filtered, as we had a tasting session and the Percol came out top for flavour and for strength from all of us..

Try it you might like it..:p

I have tried it, it's not bad but I much prefer Carte Noire if I'm drinking instant as I prefer the taste. I'm not saying it's worse than filtered, it just doesn't taste the same to me. It also depends what coffee you compared it to, not all filter coffee is the same and some can be quite bland.

Lots of reviews of this mug talk about it being used for 5 years or more, even if it only lasts 1/5 of that £5.70 seems cheap enough.
