BANGERS AND CASH!
ASDA customers can feed the family for less than £1.60.

A 2.5kilo bag of Smartprice potatoes is just 73p, which is the same price as last year, while a 1.5kilo bag of carrots is 68p. To further help Britains families, ASDA has this week cut the price of Smartprice sausages to a fantastic 2p each. An eight pack of sausages has been reduced from 54p to just 16p.

This means bangers, mash and carrots can be served up for a family-of-fours tea for £1.57.

Mmmm. Lovely abbatoir floor sweepings.

Do there sausages actually have any meat content, though? I know the Iceland cheaper sausages only have something like 20% pork.

Sound Revolting!

I wouldn't even feed those to geordies.

I wouldn't feed those to the dog

I think i might be sick :-(

omg, I wonder what will be in these things? :w00t:

I wouldn't buy them, but good price so voted hot

Irrelevant what you think, it's a deal and it's very cheap...

34% pork in the sausages...

I know they sound gross and i certainly wouldnt buy them, but im sure there are some people that cant afford much else. I voted hot anyway

34% pork , 66% spline, testicles, brain.................

better of eating the packaging.

Hot deal... shyte sausages. Can imaging what you would find in these, just that thought puts me off.

Saying that... what sausages nowadays dont contain spline, testicles, brain, etc.

TBH most burgers, pies, sausages etc now that you eat contain so much cack its unbelievable. Ive thought about turning veggie but the missus holds me back - she likes meat too much ;-)

She'll be buying the sausages then.

A thought-provoking article.

Very right when he says that it is a very sad way for a pig to end its life.........

There are far more meals you can eat cheaper than that.........pasta and tomato sauce with veg is a lot more nutritious and cruelty-free

........and the other basic ones are different in WHICH way?

A simple "loss leader" to try make a big issue how wonderful they are looking after their customers, although I suspect they may have shot themselves in the foot, as people instead will ask themselves the question how can they sell them this cheap!

testicles are a delicacy, don't think there will be any of them in the sausage. but spleen and brains?
its all protein, don't be so fussy.

Dont all sausages contain a small percentage of pork and a large percentage of rubbuish? Dont think its just the cheap ones. Voted hot, even though not gonna buy them, still a good price.

While I agree in general terms, and it may well have less fat, but this offer is SO cheap, that in this case it just is NOT true! Just what brand of pasta and what tomatoes (that you have not had given, or even if grown yourself) can you knock up for say, 4 to 6p a portion?

Plenty of comment but what do u get in most cafes!!

how about a compromise? pasta with tomatoe sauce and sausages.

Good sausages have between 80-95% meat. Then again the peasants that go to Asda will have them covered in tomato ketchup anyway.

I don't know why they can't offer healthy foods at a cheap price as well though.

They're all the same ****. I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.

34% isnt that low for sausages it seems
i was looking for some quality snags the other day
and for the life of me i couldnt find any with more than 42% meat

sux realy

At least 1.6 million who dont eat that in the UK.

LMFAO:-D
I prefer mayonaise myself lol

I'd rather eat Bernard Matthews wafer thin turkey ham

Straight from the turkey pig? Think about that one.

id rather eat my dogs leavings. same meat content ill bet. wouldnt buy them if they were last sausages on earth,

I might have been tempted to get some but without Quidco they seem expensive to me.
