Website still says it's 2GB of data for £7.50?
Smarty and 3 are also the only carriers who have stated they will continue with free roaming when/if we leave the EU
Sounds very smart in today’s times

I like it!

You only get money back on unused standard data

That's right, you get £1.25 back per unused GB so this is limited to 2GB on the small and 4GB on the medium.

Example:
Susan receives the Promotional Data during this month as it is her first month on the Eligible Plan. - In her first month (21 September - 20 October 2019), Susan uses 3GB of her 8GB data allowance, leaving 1GB of unused Standard Data and 4GB of unused Promotional Data. - On 21 October 2019 (i.e. the start of Susan’s second billing month), Susan’s Eligible Plan auto-renews and she receives a discount of £1.25 for the 1GB of unused Standard Data from the immediately preceding month. The Promotional Data unused in her first month expires. Susan is billed £8.75 and receives the Promotional Data for this month as it is her second, consecutive month on the Eligible Plan.

Anyone know if it's possible to "upgrade" to this as an existing customer?

Edit: I messaged the support and got put on double data. 4gb for £7.50 YMMV

So from the above Susan would have been better off on the £7.50 per month plan, she would have saved £3.75

In the 1st month, since she used 3gb overall, she then would have used 2Gb of her standard data plus 1gb of promotional data and the remaining 1gb of promotional data would just have expired,

So her 1st and 2nd month would have cost £7.50 on the 2gb plan,

On the 4gb plan 1st month would have been £10, 2nd month £8.75. - total for 2 months £18.75
On the 2gb plan 1st month would have been £7.50, 2nd month £7.50. - total for 2 months £15

So if you're expecting to use 4gb or under per month best to go with the £7.50 per month plan

It's only a 1 month contract. Theres not much to gain and a lot more to lose reputation wise by offering patchy service.

Anyway, I was with Three before moving over to SMARTY so I'll update if I notice any difference in coverage.

You won't notice any difference in coverage because Smarty is actually run and owned by Three, they are the same company and are not a mvno.
If anyone is new to this company and looking to set up a sim, pm me and I'll let you know how to get TCB and some free credit.....
Cheers OP. I just got them to double up my £10 for 4gb deal to 8gb - I've still got 2 free months on there so a discounted price wouldn't have made any difference but double the data is handy!

I just got it applied using their online chat

Me too, earlier today. CS asked where I saw it and I explained I was looking around at 04.00 (truth) at a comparison site...

Felt sure I saw 4+4 GB for £10 at 03.00 but later it only showed 2+2 at £7.50.

Runs out in a few days so let friends know... as it is meant to be for new customers only.

When asked about source link for offer I explained 0400, then added a further comment to say if I could not get the deal, please provide PAC (so I could become ex-customer and then get the deal before moving number back)...

You find these cheaper networks usually have lower priority than the main network even if this is actually owned by Three. I figured Plusnet would be the same quality as EE as they boast they use the EE network and have fantastic coverage etc but the signal is nowhere near as good.
Plusnet is a MVNO, SMARTY isnt.

As I previously said Smarty is NOT an mvno it is the exact same company as Three so the network service is identical.
It's the same with Voxi and Vodafone.

Plusnet is a different company using the ee infrastructure, I.e. mvno

Smarty is a subsidiary of Three, I.e. Same company, same infrastructure, same priority

Similar to voxi - VOXI is a subsidiary of Vodafone.
Plusnet was acquired by BT Group in 2007. So whilst being owned by the same group as EE, it is operated as a separate company.

In 12 months time I doubt the data will go back to 2GB with all the competition in the mobile networks, Worst case scenario if it does you bin them off and move to another deal.
If I hadn't got the Three unlimited everything £10 deal a few months ago I'd be swapping to this.

It was a mispriced deal that was honoured a few months ago and everyone on here who signed up got it honoured at £10 a month for two years.

Plenty of us where fortunate enough to get it before Three realised their cockup, I now use one of the contract sims as my main internet and calls provider at home through a Huawei 4G router and my daughter has another for her mobile phone
