Yes it will work that way. This however will not work in any places where you would normally use a web browser to access the internet and enter codes etc. Such as chargeable wi-fi sites in airports, hotels etc.

A real shame as I could do with that. Costco are currently selling the belkin version of this one for about 89 quid.

Thanks Ray

Just be aware that neither of them will work where you need browser-based authentication to use the internet (airports, hotels etc)

thanks rayman, does it work with other voip providers, skype is not the cheapest for international calls...

Would this allow me to make a call to a yahoo messenger user?

This is a great price for a very good handset.

I am reviewing one of these at the moment, not quite finished, but in the meantime my reviews of the Belkin handset is here;
wikidesign.co.uk/Gee…tml

and the new SPH200D from Netgear, which also makes regular landline calls, is here;

In answer to some questions;
matar, no it will not work with other VOIP providers, only Skype.
davedixson, no Yahoo chat, only Skype chat.

Thanks for the feedback guys Also the useful links for other sets davohotuk!

this is a massive reduction from the £100+ prices of just a couple of months back. Do you think we are seeing the start of a price fall on these devices?

Skype is becoming increasingly popular and even some of the '3' mobile phones are including it. Worth waiting a month or so? I would be more likely to buy one around the £50 mark.

Great price ray, thanks!

Now down to £49.99.

Not got one of these, But i've got a SMC wireless card thats now 1-2 years old, Gets used every day!

Hi

do you see the other person on this phone if they have a webcam?

Thanks

Neat idea but imagine what they could sell that for!

Now this phone costs £94, does anyone know where to get it cheaper?
I am searching for a phone that works with skype and fonera router and where no PC is required.

Are there any other phones that does the same thing?

Thanks in advance.
