Smeg heads

Hot from me. Good Make and 5 Year Warranty make this a good deal

I've been waiting for a dishwasher deal for a while after missing the Siemens at John Lewis.

Unbelievable price for a smeg with 5 years warrenty. Ordered one - no hesitation this time :-)

I don't have a Boots Advantage Card though but went through QuidCo. You can't have everything, can you :-)

heat and rep added - thanks very much.

bought this on 31 dec last year (appliance direct - £254, all part of the same group DRL) as the free 5yr warranty period was supposed to end on the 31st, but now they have extended it till the June 2010.
Normal wash seems to be OK (but consumes more water & power than advt), tried the ecomode but didn't get rid of any dirt at all. Also to note the draw is suited (manual recommend) for powder not tablets, the tablets have to be stuck in the cutlery tray if used which I think is a major draw.

Would you recommend that I cancel my order or are you happy with yours, considering the price you paid for it?

How did you work that out?

yes generally happy with the purchase (only went fot it cos of the extra peace of mind - the 5yr extended guarantee) apart from the gripes mentioned earlier...having received it only recently as the delivery had to be rescheduled couple of times due the adverse weather cond/ snow.

from the manual. I was quite keen on getting a machine using least water and from my research in the price range of £250: 13 -15ltrs was kind of what I was expecting and sites advtised this one as using around 15ltrs which is not quite whats mentioned in the manual (they don't give any accurate readings on the water used in ecomode, though ecomode seems to be useless atleast for me)

Smeg dishwashers are generally poor quality - the 5 year gtee is just a free insurance policy - not a makers guarantee like Siemens and Miele have ( I know they are dearer ) if you can't afford them i would always go for a Bosch

I'd buy it just for the name. :-D

The Bosch cheapest (£279 ish) at John Lewis - free delivery, £10 to collect old one...

Amazing 30 min wash - have never bothered with the longer washes. Very quiet.

Bosch has a great reputation for a good reason - their dishwashers are excellent - certainly the best at the low end.

I just checked John Lewis and Currys and their cheapest boschs are £349 ish - anyone know if you can get one for less than £300?
