Just asking to conserve water and nothing wrong with awareness so you’re sarcastic comment about “prophet of doom” isn’t needed. And if you don’t believe in climate change then you’re going to have a very big wake up call VERY SOON!

This is why the climate change message isn't getting through. Scaremongering without evidence, akin to old times where people were scared into believing in God.

I'm on the fence with climate change, I've listened to both sides of the argument, however, one side is setting out their position calmly and rationally and the other is trying to scare me out of using my dishwasher and having a big wake up call soon.

Please try harder, scaremongering is counter productive to your cause.

It’s mostly dependent on how you wash.

I know this is a joke but we seriously cannot waste water, especially nowadays when climate change is at its peak and the speed of resources we use, and the amount we use. I’m not forcing you, just try to be mindful.
Its flooded around here, so plenty of water at the minute

I do and the scientists say it's gonna get wetter ffs! Certainly here anyway. Get yourself over to Derbyshire (take your wellies and your washing up) you might have a big wake up call in the morning when that dam goes!

No they don’t. You use more water washing by hand

My dishwasher only uses 6 litres of water on a full wash.

That is wholly untrue, in every case. It’s not possible to wash 12 Place settings in 9l of water. Every time dishwashers are more efficient
I had this model, we sold it with our house & regretted it. It’s bulletproof and the orbital system is great. We’ve just bought the new one with the planetary system, which is even better at cleaning.

People seem to be having enough difficulty swallowing the overwhelming evidence about climate change from renowned scientists, so opening your case with a demonstrably incorrect statement, admitting your mistake with such little humility and continuing to badger other commenters means you've probably lost your audience.
Make sure you register the warranty. You’ll likely need it.

Not if you spit-clean them
Wish this was not integrated. Wanting to replace my 10 year old smeg which has recently died
donslibi02/08/2019 07:55

Get some dogs or cats. Clean dishes without any water needed at all.
There’s always same amount of water on earth & there has been for 1000’s of years,so for that reason this offer is a lovely wee job op

The clinate message is not getting through because people live in the present and the truth hurts so people would rather convince themselves of "alternative facts". It is not scaremongering to tell people the truth whixh is scary. A bit like AIDS and heroin ads in the 80s.
So actually, YOU are the problem.
Smeg is always good

You've just proven my point.

Evidence please or are you assuming that attacking me will convince me of your argument ??

If you still don't believe in climate change in 2019 either you're incredibly ignorant or you're one of those right-wing denialist nut jobs so either way there's not much point trying.

So no evidence, just more personal insults. Is that all you've got?

Socrates once said "When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser"

Im happy to champion any cause that uses evidence to gather support - I am literally here waiting to join you - but I will oppose any cause that demands belief and uses bullying and belittling as a recruitment tactic.

Do you ask people to prove every, pretty much universally accepted scientific fact or just the ones that you dont like?

I've already explained to you that im yet to be convinced either way on the subject. I understand that it's an issue worthy of discussion and, like most things, it's likely that neither side of the debate is 100% correct and the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle.

But yet again, you seem incapable of providing any evidence but plenty of personal attacks.

Do you simply believe everything someone tells you to believe without demanding proof?
To be honest? I don't really care what you think. I was using you to make a general point as to the lunacy of the climate change deniers.
Hot deal by the way

It's only slander when it's false pal. If you're offended by what I said you really must be a typical thin-skinned right-wing snowflake. Seeing as you're so fond of quotes, how about this one " a person who lives in denial will paint a picture of themselves as being a victim or innocent in all aspects. They will be offended by the truth...."

You say you're on the fence but you wouldn't be if you'd look at or were capable of understanding the evidence for yourself. It's not my job to present evidence of climate change to you, go and look for yourself. It's been consensus for over 30 years. You're in denial. Do you deny the holocaust too...? In fact don't answer that....

So I lack the intelligence to understand the evidence but you're unwilling to provide any evidence?

Youre back to slander again.

One thing I'm sure we can agree on though, I'm most definitely not your pal. Look elsewhere.
You're really struggling with this aren't you?

Just because I don't believe all of the claims of the climate change cause, doesn't mean I'm a complete climate change denier!

Your position seems to be (unless I have it wrong)....

"I am right, you are wrong. The fact that you can't just believe what I tell you without evidence proves youre a right wing climate change denier".

I read last week that 2 million people are going to die by 2030 as a "direct result" of climate change. I'm sorry, that's 11 years from now and I just don't accept that as a reasonable assertion. Am I supposed to believe this based on the fact that you "say it's so?"

You literally know nothing about me but I see identify politics is festering away in that head of yours. That won't do you any favours.
My mrs loves smeg

Im with you on this one. Im also unconvinced either way and sit in the middle. I dont think anyone knows for 100% certainty. Scientistis do sometimes get things wrong.

What we do know though is, 2.4 million years ago we had the ice age, which had very cold periods and very hot periods which melted glaciers (whats happening now). So is todays apparent issue just an ongoing natural occurrence? Or created by us? Either way, I bet theres zero that can be done about it and I also bet nobody ever wins this argument.
