We need a new oven !!

I was focused on the samsung bq2q7go78 (completely touch screen) , but after doing my research i found this Smeg Oven which matches Samsung 5 YEAR WARRANTY but this promotion ends on the 31st December, so not long to go! Only 2 reviews, but it all seems promising especially when you watch the Linea video. Looks like a nice piece of kit that simply plugs in. Another great benefit, you can program this oven to turn on and turn off unlike the mentioned samsung and also has Pyrolitic cleaning.

I haven't much knowledge on ovens but haven't heard anything to bad to put me off. As i said, the offer comes with a 5 year warranty which expires on the 31st December!! Any thoughts?

I was about to buy the Samsung but now I'm Smeged!

Good find but doesn't mention 5 year warranty and that is mega important!!

I can also get this for the same price from Curry's using a code

Ahhh good point there actually, that 5 year warranty is certainly worth many times the £10 saving.

Where is all the smeg heads?

I've had a smeg pyrolitic oven for 10 years now.... Excellent piece of kit... What's really useful is that you can put stoneware and cast iron pots in it on the pyro function and they come out looking like new. Heat added.

Compared to bq2q7go78 you refered to it has a single fan and doesn't have dual cook.

yea , one down side, no dual cook stuck between 2 but hearing bad stories about Samsung Customer service

I found this somewhat hidden review about this oven - here it is!

I purchased a SAMSUNG GN642HFGD gas cooker hob and a SAMSUNG BQ2Q7GO78. The hob was faulty from day 1 and one of the rings would not stay lit due to the safety feature working incorrectly. I refer to the fact that the newer hobs cut out when the flame goes out. A great idea but not if device never allows the flame to stay ignited in the first place. I did get a replacement which does work but the build quality is pathetic. Off centre seals and very poor finish. The oven lasted a whole week before developing an earth leakage fault which tripped the RCD. Again I had a replacement but the whole unit is so badly designed and I would avoid it at all costs. The oven collects so much water vapour as the food cooks, that when you open the door the inside of the glass is covered with enough water to literally pour onto the floor underneath the oven. Samsung have clearly recognised this design problem and have riveted a small drip tray underneath the door but it floods over. Basically I will never buy Samsung kitchen goods again, they are immature products built in the cheapest labour markets (Thailand in this case) and certainly do not have the feel of quality about them, just touch screen gimmicks. The manual for the oven is so poor that they clearly cannot be bothered to explain how the touch screen panel works anyway.

Reviews in general are not so bad for BQ2Q7GO78

Are there any reviews for SMEG Linea SFP109?

2 good/great reviews for this smeg in general. I am one for gadgets and love the fact that you can program the smeg to turn on /off unlike the samsung. General vibe I'm getting from people is that Smeg is way superior and the the 5 year warranty makes me want it more but the samsung has double fan /double oven technology and 5 year warranty to! Im still swaying to Smeg

Just spoken to currys and although they are a website they have a store number and the 5 year warranty is valid.

Lots of cross wires. I have checked Smeg Warranty page which is not specific to this product and states, ' At selected displaying retailers only, online purchases will not qualify.'

I would confirm with Smeg before committing as the 5 year warranty might be invalid.

Called SMEG customer service and they have confirmed they will cover this with a 5 year warranty from where ever you buy it online!! Make sure you send them the warranty registration form asap! Apparently all the SMEG Linea ovens come with a 5 year warranty and am tempted to by the the Linea SFP140 Electric Single oven....

Ok ordered the higher spec SFP140 which comes with £50 cashback and 5 years warranty
