Not really a deal.... just a “how” you can claim more benefits!

Information isn't a bad thing though. A lot of people in genuine need don't claim things they are entitled to because they don't know the system, or aren't able to deal with it. However, some with less need are better able to work it to their advantage.

Compared to the benefits multi-millionaire MPs like Ian Duncan-Smith claim... this is NOTHING! He claims hundreds of thousands every year because the mansion he lives in is on a farm or some nonsense like that.

All the benefits claimed in total every year, accounts for something like 1% compared to ALL THE TAX DODGED.

Yet, who does Channel 5 make hateful vile TV shows about? Who are the drooling, 'working class heroes', BRAINWASHED by the media, to direct hatred towards?

God forbid ANYONE has a mental illness in this crazy f'ed up society in place in the UK and dares to claim a few peanuts in compensation.

How is this a deal, lol.

Because it saves people money.
It's that simple.

Nobody begrudges anyone from genuinely claiming. Listening to my …Nobody begrudges anyone from genuinely claiming. Listening to my sister-in-law ranting that she can't get a mortgage for a new home unfairly excludes her and my brother-in-law from getting on the property ladder "even though they pay the housing benefit to the landlord on time each month" really gives the level of many people in this country who will never contribute a thing but expect everything.

I don’t think that’s true. I think there is a fair percentage of people out there who do begrudge even the neediest of people claiming benefits. And I think the main reason behind this is the Government’s incessant drive to paint all benefit claimants as shirkers

That's gr8 m8 I r8 8/8 then.
Not sure if OP is having a dig at HUKD users
Thanks OP. Additionally, homeowners that are suffering dementia/Alzheimer can get Housing Benefit even though they own a home. If Social Services say they can't live safely alone, they can move into sheltered accommodation and claim exemption.

This also is not a deal, unless you are one of the unfortunate victims of the system, then it becomes a BIG deal.
Any kind of tests to get this or could you pull a ‘Cartman in the special olympics?’
Heat though I don’t think that’s what Op is after. Thank you, I know someone to pass this info onto
Cheers, passed this on to my girlfriend!

Here is a how: 'say you pinch your self'. Under guidelines from the private companies that run the UK benefit system, pinching yourself is considered more disabling than being wheelchair bound. It's ridiculous, those in the know abuse it whilst other genuine people whom are seriously struggling with their disabilities get the 'reject' stamp
been a deal since 1993

Let's not paint all benefit claimers with the same brush... it just shows ignorance and willingness to tow the govmnt line.

I think Channel 5 and ITV more than do that. They day channel 5 runs out of tv series to make, the day we have reach the right balance on benefits.
Wow the ****ing idiots in this thread and in the world in generel if you knew how hard is it to take care of some who is disabled never mind being the disabled person who looses their dignity Because of the Gov and their propaganda war on the people that need are very help honestly you people yes YOU make me sick and ashamed to be part of the same species you know only allow this to happen to encorage it

Edit And thanks OP for making more people aware

Let me add my 2 pence, my son is disabled and I will give back every penny and some that we have received so far to have him healthy and well. As for the one cheating the system, yes i totally agree they should be punish with the full weight of the law

Agreed.

Surely we’re due a raft of programmes with titles such as “Tax Dodger Street”, “Paradise Papers and Proud” and “The Great British Expenses Handout”.
Many deserving people with physical and mental health issues are been denied PIP ect every week because they are to ill to go through the difficult system of getting a claim accepted. sad

As I understand it, this is not a benefit, it is an exemption.
In addition, medical evidence has to be provided, so not everyone can be granted this.
Severe mental impairment and mental illness aren't the same things, it refers to an organic disorder that can't be faked. I do t think people with Down's syndrome are faking it. Do you? Those of you who are so cynical then you fail to understand what an organic mental disorder is. Maybe you don't just want to know.
For those cynics, have you ever considered the fact that not every disabled person working a con. There are many who would give anything not have their disorders.
Sometimes people need to be thankful of what they have and forget their envy and fears just become others get something they don't get.
Be thankful that you don't qualify for this allowance
It's not a benefit anyway, it's what is called a disregard.
