Can't be too bad for the money, especially compared to ebay alternatives rather than big brand names, but would probably want some gaskets and sealing to make it effective.

Save your money and buy a better quality smoker if you're seriously wanting to smoke. You want to maintain 225*f for a minimum of 5hrs for a decent rack of ribs, longer for a pork shoulder. This just won't hold the temps steady long enough. sure its fine for a single season BBQ, but buy cheap, buy twice IMO.

Is there one you have personal experience of that you can recommend

I agree with slim, as for recommending something suitable, well I've tried several up to £300, all rubbish, even the big name stuff... But... The ones I watch being used on the likes of YouTube etc all cost thousands and in most cases are not even available in the UK... If I do find a decent bbq, trust me, it will end up on here

I have a shortlist of a Weber Smokey Mountain, a Rosle Smoker No1 or a Kamado whichever I can get at a decent price - might get one while on the continent in the summer but keeping my eye out for a bargain, I personally wouldn't bother with this

I bought this and it is utter crap and going back. You cannot get any draw through it. The lower chamber I got red hot and couldn't hold 220f degrees in the main chamber. Opening the chimney or the inlet makes no difference. The gap on the inlet is huge even when closed.
To get 300f I had to put a rock on the lower and upper bins and wedge the inlet with a prop. Ruined a decent brisket.
