Thanks for the reply! Been looking at a Behringer for some time now, might just get that cus of the great price
Good spot. I have been after a Fiio DAC but this will do fine at not much more than half the price.
would it works with PS4?
I am very tempted by this. Thanks!
My laptop's audio jack is broken so would this be a good alternative way of using headphones?

Personally i use an LG B&O DAC bought from Ebay in excellent condition for about 20GBP (originally made for the G5) . The sound quality on laptops/PC is much better compared to standard sound cards and very portable. Check also the dac chips this one seems to use a Sabre ES9023 .

I have the LG G5 DAC, it works on Android phones and PCs, I thoroughly recommend one if its that cheap.

Easily a star buy for quality and ability to drive headphones with high impedances.

On my PC it sets itself up as a spdif device. And didn't need any drivers on my windows 7 or 10.

Also it's quite small. Even with the adapter.

This will probably be worse than your onboard xD!
The fiio is much superior to this.

I hope not as I have ordered it now. I checked out a Youtube video from a well known audiophile bloke that does a lot with headphone reviews and he loved it.

Cheers - guessing that'll be more of a fix than an improvement in audio quality.
Would you say buying something like this external DAC is really worth it? I use Sennheiser HD 598s

I got a steel series usb sound card , definite improvement in quality. However I think the LG G5 DAC is definitely the way to go, just go right to the top!

I can't see why not? My monitors Tannoy work perfectly with mobile phone without any amplifiers!

Why do you think this amp wont work with the monitors? I connected my monitors directly to the phone and had no problems whatsoever!

I recommend a steel series 5H v2 such as

m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Steel-Series-5Hv2-Virtual-7-1-Channel-External-USB-2-0-Sound-Card-Audio-Adapter/231771365495

Which does have very very impressive sound. and drives higher Impedances like a champ. This would be my solid midrange recommendation but I would say beware the cheap fakes.

But again compared to the LG G5 DAC for around 15-20 quid.. that has to be my recommendation if you have decent earphones/headphones.

Consider that your monitors likely have built in amps why do you want to amplify the signal to them, all you want to do is send a signal to them. Next this is designed for headphones which have a different impedance rating.

So use the right tool for the job and you are less likely to damage any of you equipment.

The items I listed are designed for their intended purpose, whilst the item in the post is designed for the use with headphones.
I have a beyerdynamic 🎧 650 ohms is that OK
thanks
personally I would say be careful i have been looking for an amp/dac combo and have recently looked at this make, sold primarily on amazon.
Very few reviews seems to me to be cheap Japanese sweatshop imports.
I even e-mailed them to ask them about an amp i was looking at to Which there was (no reply) good sign for customer service eh😊.
As for driving 650 ohms headphones i think you'll have to find something a bit meaty.
I have the Beyer t1 second gen and use the audiolab m-dac first gen which I found cheap but people swear by the schiit or little dot.
