Yep, had requested email notification of new stock for yesterday and got nothing. So was a little surprised to see it back in stock. Was oos by the time I knew. Would have preferred to order from Amazon too.

Just got off Amazon chat, said I saw that they had put pre-orders back up for £69.99 earlier, so asked if my pre-order from last night will be charged at £67.99 because of the price promise (and my £2 prime discount). Within about 30 seconds they confirmed that I'll be charged £67.99 for it. Possible the chat agent was wrong, but I have a transcript of it, so pretty confident I'll be charged £67.99.

Great service by Amazon. Spoke to customer service and they have just put a £10 refund straight back on to my Visa card , even though I explained that I hadn't actually paid for the item yet as it doesn't release until September. Already had the emails saying the money is on it's way. They have just listed it on the system as a refund against one of my recent orders rather than this actual item ( in this case a book ) . Not sure why they chose to do it this way, as I just asked them to amend my pre order to show as £67.99 to pay rather than £ 77.99. Very happy with a £ 67.99 price. Hope this helps someone

I think I know why we aren't automatically getting the preorder price guarantee for the orders placed yesterday and also why the email notifications didn't work for people.

It has a different ASIN number, so in effect was a completely different listing put up by Amazon today. They didn't amend the listing from yesterday so therefore the pre order price guarantee didn't happen.

Guess we will all have to individually contact Amazon unless they eventually do it for us?

They also could not explain why the 2 pound prime discount did not apply but he said i should wait until dispatch and than raise that question again, really strange.

Knew this would happen. Escalate it to their Executive Customer Services. I’d recommend everyone who managed to get an order in yesterday to make sure you place a back up too. This sounds like the orders placed yesterday will end up getting cancelled as they’ll never come into stock according to Amazon.

I swear Amazon UK are getting worse for customer service.

Send an email with your order number to the Amazon UK CEO dgurr@amazon.com. That should put you in contact with the Executive Customer relations.

If that is their customer services telling you that you’re in the first batch, then I wouldn’t get your hopes up just yet. They have no control over anything and say anything. Best to get a back up ordered if you haven’t already. Maybe get Executive Customer Services to confirm it as they have more pull than frontline customer services.

I pre-ordered from the original £79.99 page which worryingly enough has no description on it whereas the new one does. As I went to speak to Customer Services I noticed it said "Pre-ordered (Shipment 1)" next to my order so hopefully that means I'll still get one! Not sure I wanna try my luck just yet with asking for a £10 refund..

Lol ... No it wasn't the usual customer services. I always use special branch and get them to use a unicorns horn to whisper my order into big jeffs ear ( that's Jeff Bezo to all who don't know ) He usually gives me a quick text when my order is ready.

No worries.

Hopefully it is all a misunderstanding and they’ll drop the price for the original orders. Then I’ll be able to cancel the order I placed today. In my experience, it can take 24 hours but it’s just concerning with them having different ASIN numbers. We’ll see tomorrow I guess.

I was well aware of your earlier comment about your £10 refund so didn’t need you to repeat it too. Unfortunately, not everyone got lucky like you did and I was trying to help those who may not know how Amazon works and how to get the better level of service. Hope you get your Snes without problems.
