It's the same game, you have to switch between characters. It’s a lot more fun playing with somebody else

Wouldn't you be better paying £20 for snipperclips plus cartridge version. This plus DLC and it would have some resale value.
Me and my girlfriend played the demo of this and it took us ages to do every level. We ended up just running around and trying to snip pieces out of each other.

That's a decent price for the extra levels, I think I will at this price! Thanks for the heads up!
Great fun, ordered this, Bomberman and Zelda on launch, Zelda didn't get spool in until the next day!

How are you paying for it?

As long as the nintendo switch is set to English it will be converted over

Could pay with debit card but might get a small fee for foreign currency. I think most folks use Revolut, unless you have a credit card, they usually convert currency for free. Also look at the guide. After buying and changing region back to UK you need to link to your switch again. Only takes a few clicks.

Tried Revolut but it doesn't work on the Japanese eshop. Debit card is really the only option. Still a decent saving I guess, even with card fees.

This will likely be the route I take. Do you know how much the debit card fees are?

Check with your bank, varies from card to card. With that said my debit card is getting declined there too.

@paulpso can you tell us exactly which steps you took to buy this game on the Japanese eshop?

and yet as we've discovered above its almost impossible to buy from the Japanese eshop without a Japanese method of payment so why are you still pushing this?

Yes? Just used my Halifax card. Worked fine.

What do you mean it doesn't work?

I haven't bought from the Japanese e shop. But I have bought from others with no problem.

Will the Japanese e shop not allow PayPal?

Yes, the game pages say what languages they support. Best to use Chrome to do it so it autotranslates the pages.

As in PayPayl prevents you from doing it. Like you say I've done it on South Africa before but literally nothing works for Japan which is why I'm questioning the recommendations being made in this thread.

I'm guessing you're using Paypal? After a quick search it seems Paypal accounts ARE region locked. So you'd either need to set up a Japanese Paypal account. Or just use a card. I've only ever used my Halifax card to pay but I know some people use Revolut for stuff like this so they don't get any foreign currency fees. Do a quick google, there seems to be plenty of sites detailing what you can and can't do.

I wasn't aware of any limitations for Japan.

Like I said I haven't tried changing region To Japan, but it worked for others I presumed it wouldn't be any different.

What exactly does PayPal do to stop you?

Yup. For what it's worth the South African eshop is cheaper than this too (although not as cheap as Japan) and works with Revolut.

But...I bought sonic mania from the Russian e shop just two weeks ago? Am I missing something?

I csn screenshot the transaction if need be. I paid in rubles.

All I had to do was change my region on my Nintendo and PayPal simply converted the rubles in to pounds.

It came up that I paid rubles?

No need to screenshot, I believe you. I think Nintendo's rules on payment origin differ from region to region.

Ahhh, that makes sense.

I didn't want to be spreading wring information but I knew mine worked at least twice haha.

If it was really that simple and practical, we would all be doing it.

As you swear buy your region jumping, it would be more helpful and useful for us on here if you posted some deals with detail of issues, and instructions for buying from other Eshops.

Except that it doesn't. There is no guidance on switching from Eshop to Eshop, language options, or if/how can set back to English for any game if required, or even what ways to pay incur fees, and variable exchange rates. I.e. Visa Debit card? MasterCard? Paypal? Is all rather vague.

If your going to say this stuff you should at least offer some detailed information, or better still, actually make a deal post around it.
