Snoopers Enigma Database

Only Snooper speed camera detectors utilse our unique ENIGMA database. No other system allows you to download live updates 24 hours a day, ever day. Other 2 in 1 sat nav systems such as Tom Tom, Garmin and other GPS speed camera detectors are cheaper lower quality products which usually only give you the opportunity to download a database 4 times a year.

This means that your system can be up to three months out of date before your next update. If you get caught out by a new speed camera you didnt know about, youll have no-where to turn. With ENIGMA, if a new speed camera appears, it will be live on our database within 48 hours. GPS location systems are only as good as the information they store, therefore it is essential that your system uses the best there is. ENIGMA is absolutely the best automotive Speed Camera Safety database.

Question:

If it has a Radar Detector inbuilt, why does it need free lifetime camera updates?

It needs updates because radar will not pick up risk areas and also it will not pick up spec (Average speed cameras).

BTW radar is not the best system from personal use. If you Speed camera picks up radar ifrom a van man it is usually too late and you have been caught. You need a jammer which is ilegal

Good deal but also worth looking on the Orange Accessories web site for the Snooper Strabo at £74

Probably because this deal is perhaps misdescribed - as far as I can see this is NOT a radar detector sat nav, it merely has a regularly updated camera position database.
Even the link it goes to does not describe it as a radar detector.

It does not 'detect' cameras, it acts as other units do, being aware of their reported position, the only difference being that the Enigma database is updated daily with reported camera locations that have to be published by Camera safety partnerships by law.
The PGPSW camera database is pretty good although not updated daily and can be installed on TT and Garmins and would be the next best to a daily update.
This is not a detector unit.
Title may need to be altered.
Good price though but not for me.

Couldn't afford this when I wanted one. Now I can afford one, I have 3 othe Sat-Nav's I can use:x
Great price though:thumbsup:

I was going to buy a Navigon 2100 Max, tempted by this though because of the price drop. It seems to have less features than the Navigon (being a new driver, I really like the sound of lane guidance), but its rrp is twice as much. Are you paying extra only for better speed camera detection, or does it excel in other areas also?

No experience of this satnav but looking at some reviews (on amazon) it appears the unit seems to excel at knowing speed camera locations but lack a little in the sat nav side. i wouldn't expect the same quality of software as in a tomtom and its mentioned that maps for this cannot be updated online (only speed camera locations)?! whether that has changed since the review was written i don't know?! i personally have decided against this...though if you primarily want speed camera locations and sat nav is secondary then this seems good for the price. You'd have to keep hooking it up to the pc to get the speedcamera updates though. Does anyone know if they've come up with a satnav with wifi which can hook up to ur wireless network and get speed camera updates whilst ur cars in the garage?? i know about the new sim card built in ones but im far too ***** to pay for the monthly subscription!!

An excellent price for this very well reviewed system. IMO this is a steal for the money especially for the casual driver. I'm definitely tempted. Heat and rep added.

The description on this item is two years out of date. This product was introduced two years ago when it won an award from AutoEXPRESS. Two years ago it was a trendsetter because it combined speed camera alerts with SatNav in one box. Today it is outdated. There are much much much better products out there and I stongly advise against buying this specific product. You'll be very disappointed because it does not measure up to more current alternatives.

Get the Navigon - I have the 2150 max (basically the 2100 with European maps and Bluetooth), and it's a cracking unit, with Support from navigon that surpasses TT's. Also get two years maps for 19 Euros.
