Snooper S2 Safety Camera Detector
As our roads become increasingly busy it is becoming more and more difficult to drive carefully and safely. Even the most conscientious of drivers can have a lapse of concentration which could easily result in a fine and even more seriously, an accident.

The NEW Snooper S2 GPS Safety Camera Detector has been designed to help improve your concentration and to navigate the UK's roads more safely by providing advanced warning of ALL fixed speed safety cameras. What's even more impressive is that you can get this highly sophisticated Camera Alert System plus FREE speed camera updates for life. Using GPS technology the Snooper S2 speed camera detector compares your position to the position of all known danger spots and provides you with an audible and visual alert. The S2 also includes two new features, Auto Ranging and Speed Sensitive visual alerts.

Auto Ranging
You no longer have to set the detection range as the S2 automatically calculates the distance required depending on the speed limit. 200m pre-warning of a camera in a 30mph zone up to 500m pre-warning in a 70mph zone.

S.P.A. Technology
New Speed Sensitive Alerts means that you can safely and easily keep a check on your speed. When approaching a Speed Safety Camera or High Risk Zone the S2 will flash the red LED's if you are over the limit or the blue LED's if you are under the limit ensuring that you are always travelling at the correct speed. Upgrades quickly and easily from your PC using Enigma Databases ensuring your highest concentration at all times.

This is for people who can't spot a massive yellow box by the side of the road and road signs scattered before them telling drivers that there are cameras and what the speed limit is!

Yes and also for people who drive for a living and find this very very helpful in ensuring it keeps them from getting points!!!!! I

I might also add that this helps spot the vans that sit on the fly overs in vans that are not clearly marked with safety camera van!

Why? Can't they see the huge yellow boxes and road signs?:?

I suppose its only got to save your ass once to save you the purchase price

This is a great idea!

Do they have a range of gadgets to stop you getting caught breaking other laws (and endangering others) too?

The OP states it spots FIXED cameras not the mobile ones. If you have a sat nav then you already have the facility to be warned about the fixed ones, simples :-D

Some of the cameras are obscured, and every human being gets lapses of attention / concentration, especially if tired on long trips.

As cameras are posted at accident black spots where there have been injuries etc, anything that helps save lives and prevent injuries is worth considering.

Some speed changes are also not that easy to judge, and signs may be obscured, damaged, not in place, so boosting alertness to road safety is a good thing. And keeping a clean license is also better than having points, which may lose jobs, ruin families etc.

Also worth considering are satnav camera updates, including those for mobile phones running satnav. I don't know the comparison of prices, so that's interesting, and this may be a hot deal, I'm not clued-up enough, and is cheaper than elsewhere, as the poster quotes.

I think there should be a gadget that beeps whenever a policeman is in close proximity. I can't think of how much free time that would have saved me when getting caught trying to steal items or attempting to mug old ladies. If they sold that for £100 then I suppose it would only have to save my ass once to be worth the asking price.

However, why don't they just sell these as "Danger Area Notifiers" or similar? That way they could state that the device gives you a warning of places in the UK where dangerous driving often occurs (hence the need for a camera).

Also, as stated above, why not get a Sat Nav (for ~£60) and download camera updates (even some mobile phones have it)? Much better value.

My tomtom already does this.....dont need another device in the car nor find it practical having to run a satnav, phone charger and then another device on top

I saw this posted and knew that there would be a bunch of people hopping up onto the moral high horse.

It's old - give it a rest. If you don't like the product, you don't have to buy it. You don't even have to comment about it.

But people still do. Sigh.

Thanks op, have some heat from me, as I know how useful these can be for people who don't need satnav, especially where speed limits are not clearly marked and mobile vans take advantage of this to catch people out.

Am I forming an opinion about other people based on a product and why they use it? No. So I guess I'm not in that respect.

[QUOTE=thesilverfox;6024652]Am I forming an opinion about other people[QUOTE]

In that case you are moralising .... especially when you 'sigh' about others opinions:)

Anyway, thesilverfox, this isn't going anywhere - we can all see you're moralising so let's end it here...

Whatever tickles your fancy, but you're the one who made the above comments, suggesting that perhaps people are stupid for not seeing a yellow box on a road/road signs. You're not the only person, but it's easier to single you out, seeing as you were quick to jump on this thread.

And yes, I am teaching moral if you like: not to judge others on the basis of poor information and assumptions, which of course is not a very nice thing to do now, is it? Doesn't mean we don't though, hence the 'sigh'.

What on earth are you talking about? I was never aware that something required 'ending', but again, whatever you like.

I'm sure the OP is very pleased that this thread has gone off-topic, no less from the first post. Which was yours.

Seriously, there's one in EVERY speed camera detector thread;
'I never go above 30, i'm better than you, look at me everyone, aren't i good!'

zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Hot deal. heat added.

This post just shows what is so wrong with this site! So many people want to post moral views that have NOTHING to do with the deal. Seriously get a life and try joining a politics forum or visiting your local MP if you think you need to voice your pathetic views!

Is the deal HOT or Cold based on the fact that if it is cheapest than anywhere else. FORGET your moral tosh!

Until the above type of user clears off the best deals will be found in the NEW section with low ratings.

I agree.
Oh by the way it's moral not 'morol' :whistling:

Voted hot very usefull devices . Seeing the yellow boxes isn't always the problem - knowing that a speed limit has dropped is .
Yes there are speed limit signs along the roads sometimes but what happens
when the sign is just after a bus stop and a bus has stopped there ? You get three lovely kiss's on your license because you could not know there was a reduction in speed unless you knew the area .
Perhaps we should all drive at 25mph as i am sure some very honest citizens here must do - the same ones we all wonder, how did they pass there test ?

Don't have a go at me just because I can't stand drivers who speed and kill innocent people, especially children - don't start making inane comments just because I can't stand drivers who think it's their god-given right to make our roads a lawless place - start thinking about others not just yourself

Surely if there is a bus stop there and a Bus stopped there to boot you would know that it's an area where pedestrians are and would drive accordingly anyway. It's very rare that a speed limit entry, or repeater sign would be put just after a bus stop for the very reason you have just described. Any fine or points offered to you would be on very shaky ground legally especially if the said sign were a speed limit entry sign that was obstructed.

All that being said There are speed cameras that are used purely to fill the coffers of the local enforcement agency by placing them in areas where speeding is known to happen rather than at an accident blackspot as an aid to calm the traffic .

You would be suprised how many signs are in such places and hidden by trees that have grown ,especially where there appears to be no reason for a reduction , intentional ?
I did contest and lost . However six months later more signs were put along the same stretch of road . It is also strange that driving the opposite way there are two big speed limit signs 1meter wide but no cameras on that side of the road ????
That said i havn't bought one i just make sure i do less than 30 and carry on driving respectfully afterwards if i havn't seen the limit .

Technically its also for those of us who bomb round the roads doing over the speed limit and slam on when we do see those big yellow boxes.

Hot from me.

I will be hard wiring it in so it's on all the time, saves getting the tomtom out when I know where I'm going.

Agreed if you stick to the speed limit at all times you don't need one...........
