yep the same stuff your Nana would give you at Christmas, when you were a kid, and say "don't dare tell your Mother"

Then years later when you did tell your Mother she would have a fit saying "different when I was a kid she would have killed me if I'd if had a drink at that age, O shes all liberal now"

OMG I was 11 it was my aunts 21st birthday I was allowed to be there until 7 30, the old bloke from next door said let him have one of them womans drinks, the cherry one, well it lasted about 30 seconds, he says, you must be thirsty give him another, next this I remember I woke up the next day with my mother threatening sevier violence once I felt better. I could have died of alcohol poisoning, but back then they never called an abmlance

You certainly took a jolt there.

A 35ml pub measure of spirit is 40% (by volume) of alcohol so it contains 14ml. Cherry B is 11.5%. A standard bottle is 113ml which means one bottle has 13ml in it. So what you drank was just 2ml shy of a double of whisky (and back then the bottles were probably a shade bigger too).
Naff deal. A bottle of Advocaat is £5 on lidl, then you need lemonade, a bottle of lime cordial or lime, and for the adventurous - a shot of brandy. All that is more than this deal, but you can make many more and they will contain about 90% less sugar per drink. It will save part of the hang over!
Snowballs on Xmas morning, followed by some dry sherry and disregarded gin, perfect start to Christmas peeps 😁

Are you suggesting you drink in the cab? What kind of messy night out do you have? And nothing stopping you pre mixing these and taking in a disposable container if your that desperate to consume.

The presumption here was that these would be for Xmas day rather than a night getting wasted.

The problem with homemade is that when you make them yourself they never quite taste the same (might be all that missing sugar) and they are certainly not as fizzy. The brand of advocaat makes a big difference to the taste as well.

Another great mixer for advocaat is whole milk or, if it's not too rich for you, single cream.
I had my first snowball drink at the age of 5! (no joke)

I very rarely drink these days due to the liver transplant (joke)

Excellent drink for Christmas time.

We are such snowflakes now in those days you would sit on your Granddads knee and have a sip of his beer at any family party, Whisky rubbed on the gums of a teething baby !!!!!

Double standards too my Granddad Drank 5 pints of beer at the end of every shift, down the steel works, at least 10 on a Saturday night and 2 just before dinner on a Sunday. I remember once him saying that Mrs Leech was an alcoholic because she drank in the house, turns out it was a scooner of sherry now and then, but in his head if you had alchol in the house you were a wrongun

If they came from a good vintage harvest they could be worth thousands. I was going to suggest you take time off to go to the next Antique Roadshow but they have stopped filming for the year. In light of that, you might want to try the site: wineauctioneer.com/ I was quite lucky on there a couple of months ago and managed to pick up a case of the much sought after '95 vintage of Lambrini for less than £400.
