I like these, easier to use when you have been handling raw meat in the kitchen, no pressing a plunger with dirty fingers!

It does have its place!
Not at all pointless, it makes my 8 year old twins wash their hands. Don't ask me why but we've had one a year now and I now longer need to ask "did you wash your hands" they just do it. This version look great as well as it will save me ripping the tops of the Dettol ones to refill it, which is a right pain, but so much cheaper than buying them each time.
This is one of those gadgets that anyone who hasn't got one thinks they're pointless but everyone that has one thinks they're great. Who do you listen too?
Cold doesn't work with Alexa or Google Smart assistant.

Heat. I love these
Are these refillable with any type of handwash?
"washing up liquid or hand sanitiser gel in the most hygienic way"

Totally pointless toy. As when you put any sanitizer, from any bottle, your hands will be clean anyway...because you won't bneed to touch the bottle again until the next time!

Hand up if you're always getting ill having to touch a dirty old fashioned soap dispenser?
No one? Hmm... Odd.

I have a different brand one and I fill up with the Carex pouches. This should be the same idea.

Cut up chicken touch the top of a soap bottle and the next person moves the bottle and gets the germs on their hands, this avoids any chance if cross contamination.

I got excited. Then remembered how many refills I'm going to have to buy when the kids fool around in bathroom behind my back.

If they touch the soap dispenser they will then be washing their hands . So no cross contamination.
These are a gimmick with no hygiene benefits ( unless the novelty value helps a child wash their hands )

Yeah. Germs are good for you. They help build up defences against......germs!

And the pump on a hand sanitiser bottle will look filthy and horrid once its been used a while. When we briefly used one, I was always washing crud off the bottle.

And on top of that when you wash your hands after handling something greasy or sticky that needs lots of hot water and scrubbing to get off, some of it will be left on the plunger, so that the next few times you use it when you hands are relatively clean, you'll get the grease and gunge back on your hands again making them more difficult to clean.

Of course, a good old fashioned bar of soap is self cleaning

These were a fad about 10 years ago. You've still got to buy something to refill it, so you may as buy a bottle with dispenser. It's just another plastic thing we don't need.

Man, missing words teach me to type to quickly, if you touch a bottle and then someone moves the bottle there is cross contamination. Ok if you don’t ever move the bottle but ours seems to walk around the sink, teach our lot to not move it is like ......

So what you are trying to say is that people in your house just randomly move a soap bottle without actually washing their hands, I've gotta say that is a rather unique situation and maybe you should suggest they get a new hobby.

Now I think of it even my company washroom has toilets, urinals, taps and hand dryers that are activated without being touched, the only thing you need to touch are the soap dispensers. So either the designers missed a trick or there is some kind of message there

New dispensers have no touch as well, your company just hasn’t moved with the times.

Not unique we have a big sink area and kids move it from the back of the sink to the draining board to reach.

dispensers in food establishments and public toilets have to be screwed to the wall, public health frown upon normal soap bottles, reason they are screwed to the wall.....to avoid the need to move bottles around and people touching them. Same reason you need a separate hand washing sink avoid comtamination as much as possible.

Anything that avoids the spread of germs is important if they are truely needed in the home is another thing but in some cases there is a benefit whether you see it though is another thing. Do not have any in our house though.
love this as i got 2 last year but both only lasted 2 months then had to throw it away, gutted as great item but sensor fails

My one broke after two weeks. At least there was no problems with refund.
Got this a couple of years ago for the same price. For a family of 2 it used to drain the batteries. Needless to say, it went in the bin.

Am I missing something? They are automatic - so you don’t need to actually touch the soap dispenser? You put your hand under the spout, and it auto dispenses a measure of soap without you needing to touch the thing.

Why have a touchless soap dispenser when you still have to touch the tap to turn it on with your dirty hands? If you have a motion sensor tap then fair enough....

No. You just go to the store and see if they have it in. Lidl doesn't do online besides showing you what they sell.
Always have a hot soapy water ready when im preparing food so i can dip my hands in and keep them clean then clean utensils up when im finished this would be handy when making sandwiches and such when rushing.
Shame you have to touch the dirty soap container and have to fill it. Just makes my skin crawl! Lol
