What the OP has not said is this code is issued when you register a new soda stream to your account so you can easily get it legitimately by registering your soda stream if it's not been registered before.

Due to the above there is the possibility of cancelled orders when they realise it's being abused but I doubt that will happen.

It is also once per an account which is why, if you get a message it's been used this might be why.

Postage takes it to £18.98, then you get a refund of £10 when you return an empty bottle. 👌🏻

Free return label included
Nice one. I bought a couple about a month ago and returned some empty gas canisters we had lying around. You can return up to 10 in one box for free. I sent via a local Collect+ (in a newsagent) and got deposits refunded about a week or two later. A bit more elongated than going to Argos but hey, saves mixing with the germs out there.
Thanks as my local Argos still not open for exchange
This is a good deal but full price it’s such a rip off. I’ve bought a large co2 cylinder and refill my own now. Costs £20 for 13 refills.

Did you swap the valve on your bottle? My bottle can’t be refilled because of the valve

Not that one it’s a US thread and won’t fit on a Uk bottle without an adaptor. You want a din 477/bs 341 connector.

You need an adaptor and a liquid off take co2 bottle with a dip tube, you can get a local company to deliver one.
Freeze your soda stream bottles overnight then connect up and start filling slowly otherwise you’ll trigger the oneway valve, once it’s got going you can increase the flow.
I put the soda stream tank on a balance and fill till it’s at 425g.

There are also connectors that allow you to connect a large ‘paintball style’ tank to the soda stream via an airline which is easier than refilling the soda stream bottles.

Start slow otherwise you’ll trigger the one way valve, also need to be filling with liquid not gas so either need dip tube or to have your master tank upside down.

Thanks for the info but I think if I try it, it will turn into a disaster! I’ll stick with refill purchases.
If anyone wants any more advice just ask, want to stop as many people using soda stream refills as possible due to their humans rights record and their rip off pricing!

I take mine to a store it’s an Army Surplus store and I think he may use it for air guns etc and he does mine there and then for £5 each.

But apparently you can’t refill the newer bottles because they have changed the pin in the valve.

They’ve had the one way valve for ages, I fill them for some friends so I’ve done quite a lot and I’ve never had a problem. Soda stream like to make you think you can’t. Other companies also make bottles with the same thread that don’t have the one way valve.

Is your bottle liquid off take?
If your bottle is not liquid off take (dip tube) just turn it upside down, it's a bit of a faff but it will then discharge liquid instead of gas.

Believe it or not some people even use fire expired extinguishers and turn them upside down for liquid off take.

Also, the cheapest place for an exchange otherwise is The Range who do exchange for £12.99.

What do you mean

Is there a tube going to the bottom so it’s putting out liquid not a gas, you need to fill the cylinder with liquid. It should be obviously labelled, if not just turn the master cylinder upside down and the liquid will come out.

Try turning the valve controlling flow into the soda stream bottle on a tiny bit and see if you can get liquid into it. I think the pin can only be depressed a certain amount before it will cut out and stop your fill.

How come you’ve used ptfe tape on your threads? I know this is frowned upon in welding.

There’s no tube. I got the cylinder and bought the regulator valve and that’s it. Previously when I researched filling the bottle that’s all I needed but I read that soda stream changed the Pin to a flat headed one to stop people refilling their bottles themselves.

I will try what you said.

I used the tape when my refilling attempt failed to create a tighter fit.
Hi , I live in east london so not sure where to get the Co2 , but do you buy the bottle or rent or deposit .Also can you tell me what device you use and where to get ir please
I don't use enough over a year to make refilling myself economic - but I recall someone posting that places like Majestic refill them, is that correct?

Would rather do it locally than ship bottles all the time. If wine merchants did it that would be another revenue stream for them...
worked on the Sparkle Savers Plan taking it down from £119.88 to £109.99 for twelve bottles.

So £9.16 each and they actually ship you four bottles at a time so you never have to find a local gas swap over shop which for us is 15 mins away.

Obviously this is not going to suit everyone and I get the idea of filling with a bigger tank yourself but this makes it plug and play and v. convenient
