My lastpass is up for renewal so going for tier two as well.
Damn it - I just renewed my lastpass!
Magix Music Maker 2015 and Magix Music Maker - 2016 are now both free (see the deal threads for more). The $30 (vouchers seem to have been available elsewhere for similar amounts) are towards in-app purchases.

Went top tier in the end to try out windscribe and seems to be working with netflix but of course that could change tomorrow.
I wonder if the windscribe vpn is any better than the speedify one in the last bundle for torrent usage. Speedify has to use an Amsterdam vpn if using torrents, which is terribly slow and flaky

I still don't "get" password managers like LastPass. It seems the opposite of secure to have passwords stored and only using a single password to access everything

Its a nice mid way. You setup one incredibly strong password and then also can add an authenticater to it - as well as a trusted device. I personally dont keep sensitive things like bank passwords/insurance in these but they're a lot safer than just using the same old password for anything and more convenient. Obviously there is always a way into these things if someone is willing to try hard enough but as said, still more secure than a repeat password.

Password managers are good for low-medium security passwords and great for rubbish domain sign-ins. LastPass is a little too automated for me with its integration into the browser. It has had flaws in the past. All managers are no good if your system is compromised.
Windscribe and Lastpass alone are worth a £10, most of the other software doesn't seem that useful to me though.
Windscribe seems like a good deal for the money on its own, far better than CyberGhost, which turned out to be very restrictive and poorly supported.
My LastPass isn't up for renewal til next year. Can I buy this and add a year to it now?

If LastPass lets you. I think you buy redeemable voucher codes that have expiry sometime in the future, I'm going to buy this so I'll let you know the expiry on mine if you can't figure it out.

Had a look and says 'codes redeemable until 1st September 2017' on the site.

This is what I found on their website:

helpdesk.lastpass.com/las…es/
Bought it for Soda PDF due to the ability to convert PDF to Word/Excel, but its unfortunately a bit of a con. According to their website, it does it via a website - you can already get this for free in small quantities from a website. Wanted to software based, not website based for privacy reasons (I'm aware the conversions from PDF are usually a bit rubbish). Converting to PDF can also be done by a ton of free software. Maybe be there are some other redeeming features, will have to check.

It allows me to sync it across multiple devices , the free version means you are locked to one platform for syncing. As I use it on desktop, mobile and tablet it is a very important feature.
Anyone used Panda Pro?

My Antivirus has just run out and a little curious.

Just read the below in another antivirus review.... interesting.

"there have been cases in the past of automatic systems going slightly rogue, such as the incident a few years back when Panda Antivirus identified itself as a virus and locked up a large number of Windows systems."

Use a free one. They can't afford for their free AV to be any worse than the one people pay for so the free version is good. They'll try to upsell products to you so the only price you pay is clicking 'no thanks' more often.

I easily recommend AVG. Lots of trial offers but solid and doesn't hog system resources as bad as some.

Very true - but for a lot of people its still a damn sight better than the same old repeated low security passwords that get brute forced. Like I said I personally just memorise my sensitive accounts with passwords locked away somewhere (without their usernames). Arguably someone could just come rob my house and you have the same issues. Only real way to keep everything secure is memorising but in the age where we all have hundreds of passwords remembering that many unique passwords isn't an option.

AVG Free is bloated and horrible, it was 300MB last time I looked. Maybe that's changed. I found Avast was the best free one out there, or Microsoft Security Essentials if you are technically minded, as that is quite reliant on you not doing things that will encourage malware and viruses getting on there in the first.

Used lastpass for years for everything, never had a single issue with any password. It is very secure. Just don't choose a silly master password.

They did have one "breach". Although they promptly asked everyone to change their masters. And by "breach" all they accessed was encrypted master passwords.

I change my master every few months. Some long and annoying that I'm glad I don't have to input every single time.

wow that's pretty impressive! I pay $10 a month to torguard to get Netflix US - $5 for general VPN which is great for sports eg hotstar my dad uses for cricket and I use beinsports for footy. But have to pay extra $5 for private US server as the public ones are blocked...
Worth it for LastPass alone, don't know about anything else.

AVG definitely went through a phase of rather excessive upselling and I became more reluctant to recommend it for a good while.

I tried the other two that begin with 'AV' but, purely through unfamiliarity I am sure, didn't get on with them and went back to AVG.

I'm down with using Windows Defender if you have a clue (or for an organisation with loads of computers and you just can't afford to pay the price, I'm talking mostly charities) but, in my occupation I make recommendations on software and off a lot...

Aside from that nasty face AVG went through, it's good... effective and, more importantly, predictable. ( I should probably get into whatever partner scheme they have!)

well no harm done as it was part of this and it supports the devs. Also access to some cloud storage and better customer support.

Last pass premium was made free no?

Sorry but that makes no sense. There is still a premium service as well as a free one. So the answer is a big fat NO!
It's no biggie I got it as part of a humble bundle ( see above) and will use the other software.
Not sure why this deal isn't hotter. The VPN alone seems like a very good deal to me.

Just compared it to some other well reviewed VPN service providers via thatoneprivacysite.net/sim…rt/

Did you use your Corel Painter key? I accidentally missed this bundle. I'd swap some other Humble Bundle software or game for it. (Assuming that's allowed).

Or... if anyone else has the Corel key going spare let me know, thanks.

Does it work for watching US Netflix etc or does it get blocked? I know that's not the only reason for a VPN but I think maybe if it doesn't do that like Hotspot etc do then that might be why it wasn't so popular?

Is it just software you're after, or games too? (I've mainly got games).

edit: I see you use Steam so I'll assume both!
