Families are big fans of this hotel. And it’s all down to the impressive after-dark entertainment, long activities list and top pool scene.

With a spa and a collection of bars, plus a mini-cinema and action-packed kids’ clubs, the Sol Dunas scores top marks with both adults and children.

For sunbathing or swimming, you’ve got plenty of options, thanks to three sunbed-surrounded pools, children’s waterslides and a splash park. For a change of scene, the beach is 15 minutes’ walk away and your stay gives you access to the nearby Melia Dunas Hotel and many of its facilities.

This hotel is part of the Meliá Hotels group - one of our handpicked TUI selected partners.

PoolsThe pool scene's worth shouting about – there are three to choose from, along with lots of space for topping up your tan.The littlest guests have their own pool to dip into, not to mention a pirate-themed splash zone. Older children can make use of the spiralling slides and the multi-lane racer. Read More

Food & DrinkYou can tuck into international cuisine at the buffet restaurant, which keeps serving late into the evening. A breakfast spread is dished up every morning, too.
There’s a smaller restaurant, The Grille, which specialises in à la carte meals during the afternoon. If you fancy a top-quality snack, this is the place to go. Read More

We were there December, yes there is always a wind, but really isn't anything to write home about, we really enjoyed it and if you want guaranteed sun, no jet lag and safe daily environment I really can't speak highly enough of Cape Verde

Hopefully the use of Melia facilities now includes beach loungers. When we went in Dec 2019 (thank god we took that decision!) we were told off for using Melia beds despite them hardly being used and the Sol beds full! Enjoyed it there - the Eco park which is an easy walk was worth visiting too.

Been twice with teenagers. Windy but warm. Staff very friendly and helpful. Island tour via hotel expensive. We hired local guide with a 4WD via TripAdvisor and really enjoyed it. Went at our own pace. Met his wife and daughter and he was helping other senior tourists along the way. Worth going to beach where the lemon sharks feed off krill and wade out to see them
