Handy for finding stuff in the dark.
Just charge it during the day and it should keep its charge for when you need it at night or at the front door when you come home on a dark winter evening in UK (4pm)

There isnt a point, its just a toy really. I have one for a while and I've never charged it,but it still works now, I guess its from the lights in the shop and the LEDs don't consume much power.

 these may say solar powered & they may well display the solar panel, but they arnt, i bought some & took one apart, the solar panel isnt even connected,on any of them, so once the battery runs out, which isn't even rechargable, it'll be scrap !

OK, I just took my one apart, and its different than the photo you posted above.

My one does seem to be attached to the solar panel and it has 3 smaller batteries instead of the one big one...

no, you can use photobucket, image shack, or tinypic.com which you dont need an account for.

yea, but I checked anyway and the ends of the panel does seem to be all soldered correctly to the diode which allows the batteries to be charged when there is light and as long as the button isnt pressed. When pressed it completes the circuit to the LEDs. Im not hot with electronics, but I think its right???

^i've never seen rechargeable batteries that small before. they're just regular cell batteries connected in series. even with the solar cell connected I doubt it does much / anything. a circuit employing a ]joule theif and solar would work with some capacitors that could store captured energy efficiently.
